Question

How to Translate Reviews in Klaviyo to English?

Forum|alt.badge.img

Hi Klaviyo Community,

We use Klaviyo Reviews for collecting customer feedback. Most of our reviews are submitted in Dutch or German, but we want to display them in English for our international customers.

I’m wondering:

  1. Is there a way to manually edit reviews in Klaviyo to translate them into English?
  2. Does Klaviyo offer any built-in tools or integrations for translating reviews?
  3. Has anyone handled a similar issue, and if so, how did you manage translations while maintaining authenticity and transparency?

I appreciate any guidance or suggestions!

Thanks!

To translate reviews in Klaviyo to English, here are your options:

1. Manual Translation

  • You can edit reviews manually in Klaviyo to translate them into English.
  • This ensures accuracy but requires time and effort.

How to Edit:

  • Go to your Reviews tab in Klaviyo.
  • Select the review you want to edit, then translate and save it.

2. Use a Translation Tool

  • Klaviyo doesn’t have built-in translation tools, but you can use external tools like Google Translate or DeepL for translating reviews.

Process:

  • Export the reviews, translate them, and import the updated versions back into Klaviyo.
  • Alternatively, copy-paste individual reviews into a translator and update them manually.

3. Third-Party Apps or Integrations

  • Connect Klaviyo with platforms like Zapier or custom scripts to automate the translation process using APIs from tools like Google Translate.

Hello ,

Unfortunately Klaviyo doesn’t currently offer a built-in feature to directly edit reviews for translation purposes.

However, here are some suggestions to help manage your reviews in multiple languages:

  • You can export the reviews, translate them manually, and then re-import them with the English versions added. You can consider using third-party translation tools like Google Translate or DeepL to translate your reviews. After translating, you can upload the English version as an additional field or content block in your emails or on your website.  To preserve authenticity though, you might as well include a note stating that the reviews have been translated for international customers.
  • If you’re open to integrating external tools, platforms like Zapier might help connect Klaviyo with translation services, automating the process of translating and displaying reviews.
  • You might also consider reaching out to the Klaviyo support team or community to see if others have implemented a more streamlined approach.

I hope these tips help. Let me know if you’d like further details on any of the suggestions.

Best Regards,

Peace.

Hi Peace,

Thank you for sharing these suggestions! They’re very helpful, but I’ve encountered a challenge when trying to implement the export and re-import method for translating reviews.

When reviews are exported, translated, and then re-imported into Klaviyo, the system prevents uploading due to duplication errors. Klaviyo identifies these reviews as duplicates based on their unique identifiers, which makes it impossible to re-import the translated versions as additional fields or content blocks without significant workarounds.

Looking forward to your advice!

Best regards,

Jarno

Hi @Jarnobroekkamp,

Have you made progress on this issue?

At this time, Klaviyo unfortunately doesn’t allow for reviews to be edited in-app. I apologize for this limitation! If you’d like, you can reach out to our support team at klaviyo.com/support and ask them to delete certain reviews, as you’re looking to upload them again in another language. From there, they can delete these reviews, and you’ll successfully be able to upload the new ones in the new language.

Let me know if I can answer any additional questions.

Best,

Byrne
