Can't Update a Profile

A relatively easy task of switching out an email address that is bouncing. Go to the profile, click on edit for the contact info, put in the new email address, update, nope, wont change the email address. its not updated. how do i do it?

Segment or List for 2 different lead magnets with flows?

I’m creating 2 different lead magnets. One is a pop up on my site that will offer a dollar amount off and the other will be a landing page (where the link will be posted on social or an ad) with an offer to our free resource library. The first emails for these welcome flows will differ as one will have a coupon code and the other will have a password to the resource library. Do I create 2 lists to trigger these flows or one list that is segmented to trigger each flow? If segmented, what qualifier would denote the trigger? What I don’t want is someone who opted in to the coupon to receive an email saying “here’s your password to our resource library” and vice versa. Could someone suggest the best way to set this up? Thanks.

How can I export my customers and know what lists they are a part of?

The easiest way to accomplish this is to use the update profile property action functionality using a flow. To start, create a flow triggered by someone being added to each list in your account. Once you have created the flow trigger, add in an Updated Profile Property action. You can create a profile property called List Membership and then assign a value of the list name.For more information on how to do this, head to this article on the Update Profile Property action.Your next step is to back-populate the flow. Choose the second option to schedule emails relative to when I hit the back-populate button. As long as you only add the update profile property action to your flow, no messages will send out because your flow does not contain any emails or SMS. Instead, this will send all of the customers in your list through the flow to add the custom property to their user profiles in Klaviyo.You then have two options to export these profiles and know what list they are a part of: You can

First I'm not native in English :) I'm coming from Active Campaign and find Klaviyo a bit confusing as a beginner here.  I'll try to explain what I need and what my challenges are.In AC I had the option to add tags to people either on signup (forms)  or manually, based on the tags they went into automation (flows). I'll try to explain my setup in AC and hopefully, someone here gets it and can point me in the right direction. In AC I had a setup for new clients (webdesign business) where I added a new client manually and added tags to them based on the services have with me.  The whole idea was to send them into automation where they based on the tags got some info/education about the service they bought. Say I have 6 services, now I add the client to a list (new_clients) and add 3 services to them with tags, then they go into automation where all 6 services have 3-5 emails. Because of the tags, the automation check (split) if they have the tag for service 1, if no, (skip) and go to nex

Why did my Manually Imported List from a CSV Disappear?

I uploaded a csv of about 30 contacts when I created my Klaviyo account. I confirmed they were all there, then cancelled my MailChimp account. I logged into Klaviyo today and the profiles were all gone. Hopefully these are recoverable?

how do I delete email addresses (@amazon.com) from my lists?

I imported customers emails from another email marketing provider and I have a lot of amazon.com customers in the list.  How do I delete those emails from the customer lists so they stop sending to these temporary amazon.com accounts?

Blacklist domains

First post :DI have looked around in the help docs but couldn’t find any details on this… Is it possible to add a blacklist of domains we don’t want to accept subscribers from? I think it would be a very cool feature to avoid spam traps, scrappers (like Milled) and others.Thanks in advance!

Troubleshooting help: why won't my list import?

If you’re importing a list into Klaviyo, proper formatting is very important. I wanted to share some of the most common issues with importing lists and some troubleshooting tips on how to fix them. Check that:Your file is a .csv (comma-separated values) file.  If you’re in Europe, your spreadsheet software may export .csv files using semi-colons “;” not commas “,”. You can change this by going to your devices regional settings > advanced settings and changed the symbol used to separate lists. The first row contains column headers The email column header is properly named Name the column either “Email” or “Email Address” You do not have duplicate headers (this includes blank headers!) If you are receiving an error message about duplicate headers in your sheet and you double-checked that all your columns have unique names, delete any blank columns from your sheet and try uploading again.  The file size is 50 MB or fewer Every row has an email address associated with it No duplicate

Does deleting a list or segment delete the profiles from my Klaviyo?

The short answer is: Depends on where you delete the lists.I want to delete the list or segment, NOT the profilesIf you are browsing your Lists & Segments tab and decide to delete a list or segment from there, rest assured you will not be deleting the profiles on those lists! You will only be deleting that specific grouping of people. To delete a list or segment, select the three dots to the right of the list and select delete.I want to delete a specific group of profiles from my Klaviyo accountIf however you do want to remove the profiles in a list or segment, go to Account > Settings > Profile Maintence and select the list or segment of profiles you wish to permanently remove from your Klaviyo account. It’s important to note that when you delete a profile, you delete all of the data associated with the profile from Klaviyo, and you will be unable to include any past purchases in Klaviyos analytics. Depending on your needs, you may want to suppress those profiles instead. Ha

Lists versus segments: what's the difference?

A list is a static collection of people’s email addresses and/or phone numbers grouped under an identifiable label. They contain anyone who has subscribed to the list and will only grow or shrink as people either subscribe or unsubscribe. As a general best practice, we recommend having a single main list that contains all of your active profiles who consented to receive marketing from your brand.Meanwhile, segments are defined by a set of conditions rather than a fixed list of people. Sending a campaign to multiple lists and segments: Will people receive multiple emails?

Maybe it’s the holidays or maybe you have a big product launch coming up! Either way, this is a use case where you’ll likely need to target multiple lists and segments with the same email. Klaviyo will not send the email more than once. Your campaign will know that is someone on more than one of the lists/segments included, and ensure that they only get the email one time! To include multiple lists or segments within the same campaign, use the Send to dropdown under the Recipients section of the campaign builder and select your audiences.Pro tip - you can search for your lists or segments by typing in their names or scroll through the dropdown until you find the ones you’re looking to target. How to manually suppress a profile in Klaviyo?

Manually suppressing a profile in Klaviyo is pretty simple. To manually unsubscribe someone from all emails sent by Klaviyo, navigate to Profiles > Suppressed Profiles > Add Email Address. Enter the email address and select Add Email Address. This method is what we’d recommend for suppressing a single profile at a time if, for example, a customer requested that you remove them from your list. If you’ve set Shopify tags to be assigned to customer profiles after they signup for your newsletter, or through Shopify’s back end, you’re probably wondering where you can view these tags in Klaviyo.These tags are assigned to profiles as custom properties. You can see what tags have been assigned to a particular profile or to a group of customers. To view an individual customer’s Shopify tags, click into their profile and scroll down to the Information box. Can I Automatically Remove Someone from a List and Add Them to a Flow?

Hi all,Would it be possible to remove someone from a list automatically? I mean through a flow or 3th party integration?I have the following use case:I have build a yogaselector in ManyChat that puts someone on a list in Klaviyo (and updates custom properties). Klaviyo kicks off a flow that sends the results of the selector in an Email.If someone fills out the yogaselector in ManyChat again the custom fields might be updated and the Email with the updates scores would be sent.I thought that maybe removing someone from the list just after the first mail is sent and put them back on the list would be the way to go. But I don't see any possiblities to automatically remove someone. Not with a flow, not directly with the ManyChat integration nor via Zapier.Do you think it's (im)possible and/or would there be another way to accomplish what I'd like?Thanks in advance for your thoughts!Tim

How can a profile that bounced also open a campaign?

I was following the instructions on the topic “List Cleaning” and there was the suggestion to create a segment of soft bounces (ex. 4 soft bounces all time), for further suppression. I noticed that one of the contacts had 4 bounces, but also had opened the very same campaigns. How can that be? I got confused…I seems that the suggestion to suppress those profiles would not be a good idea. The profile I examined, after all, did open the campaigns.

Accessing segment in CMS template

Hi there,Is there a way to e.g. access the segment of a visitor coming from an email in our CMS to personalise content?Initially I had thought of e.g. adding segment data as url parameters to links in Klaviyo emails, which we can then use in the CMS. Why is my Newsletter List not syncing with people that filled out my Signup Form?

Newsletter list not syncing with people that sign up using my Signup Form Popup. I'll see em in profiles but they won't get added to my newsletter list. This is quite frustrating, because those sign ups should trigger my Welcome Series sequence. Can someone help me please? Thanks in advance!

How can I select a customer with some Shopify tags and not others?

I have customers who have a number of Shopify tags from self selecting different brands that they like. I want to create a segment of those who are tagged with specific brands but cant see how to do it. Here’s an example - I want to segment customers tagged with Brand A and Brand B - however they may also have tags for Brand Y and Brand Z.  I cant therefore us the option for “Shopify tags contains Brand A or Brand B” as they will also include those with tags for Brand Y and Brand Z. I cant use the does not contain Y and Z as that will exclude A and B. What are my options? Help!

Some Items and Parent Categories not available

I’m trying to create a segment of people who purchase one of eight specific items. I’m integrating with Lightspeed POS to pull inventory items.I tried setting it up this way: Placed Order > at least once > over all time > Items. But only four of the eight items are available to select. I also tried putting the items into categories, but only one of the four Parent Categories I created is visible. Is a category or parent category NOT available if someone hasn’t purchased it yet?

Why are my Contacts going into Profiles instead of a List?

HI everyone, I cant figure out how to manage new emails not ending up where I want them to. Buyers of products ends up in profiles where I can not do anything with them, or can I? Created a list for new emails to drop in and a exit intent popup and noticed that some emails still ends up in profiles rather than the list… how can that be if the setting is made to push them to the list? How to transfer all emails from profiles to a list for further campaigns?Example:as you can see there should be 15 people in the list already but there are only 5 and all of them are buyers, not just those who entered email in popup.  Thank You, I would really appreciate your help.

Shopify Newsletter Subscribers are not syncing to Klaviyo List

Hi there, I fully integrated my shopify store to my klaviyo account via the klaviyo app. I also managed to add customers emails via the landing page. Until here everything works fine.  BUT, those customers who accept email marketing via the checkout are not syncing up to my email list eventhough I have it set up like this. I assume that it has something to do with this code snippet that I have to implement into my code:<input type="hidden" name="contact[tags]" value="newsletter">Which is no problem normally but I have no idea where to implemented exactly. Is there a tutorial or something similar to follow? Thank you!

Can I Bulk Delete Old or Inactive Import Fields?

Hi, After using several different imports to try out I now have some import fields which I do not want to use. To avoid that these still appear when creating tags or segments, I was wondering if there is a place where you can reset or delete these.For example.I have a field called “Klantnummer” and a field called “Klantennummer”. After clearing all my lists and segments, I do not want to use the first (Klantnummer) anymore so I want it gone.How can I do that ?
