Hi! Is it possible to see how many people in our database have single- and how many have double opt-in?

Hi @jfcatalan,

Thank you for your reply.

We have a great article called the Guide to the Double Opt-in Process that outlines the pros and cons of using double vs single opt-in. I recommend having a look at this article to better understand the drawbacks and benefits of each method.

Also, we do not currently offer one-on-one account calls. But in addition to the Klaviyo Community, we have a wealth of information on strategy and technical information in our help center including an academy page where you’ll find courses and certifications on how to best grow your business with Klaviyo.

Thanks and have a wonderful weekend.

This is probably the wrong place for it, but it's related -- would I be able to request a call with an account rep to take us through the double opt-in requirements? Specifically, more so for our director of marketing and our acquisition specialist to better understand what we need to do.

Hi Dov,

Thank you! That makes sense.

The reason I ask is because we got Klaviyo's email about requiring double opt-in for from checkout emails from Shopify. I know it gives the option to change the list to single opt-in, but we're wondering what the drawbacks/benefits are of transitioning to double opt-in (other than a sizeable list reduction due to drop off between opt-ins).

Thank you,

Jonathan

Hi @jfcatalan,

Thanks for sharing this question.

It is not currently possible to distinguish users who have been added to Klaviyo through single vs double opt-in. This is because opt-in confirmation is handled at the list-level, through the list settings rather than the profile-level. Segmentation is solely looking at the profile-level for information i.e. what somebody has done, properties about someone, where someone is located etc.

It would be great to hear more details on why you were looking for this information specifically. Interested to hear more on your thoughts and ideas!

Dov
