Customer signs up for email but profile says "never subscribed" and Flow emails won't send

I’m at my wits end! I hope someone can help me.

I am using Klaviyo for my new Shopify store. My Shopfiy page has a standard email signup form at the bottom. When someone enters their email address and replies to the opt-in email, their profile shows up in Klaviyo. But their Klaviyo profile says “Never subscribed” and my welcome Flow emails won’t send.

I also have an abandoned cart Flow and that one works fine.

This could possibly be because your list has double-opt in, which sends them a confirmation message. Until they have confirmed this message, the subscriber will remain in “Never subscribed” status.

 

If you wish to change this, go to the list, then “Settings” and then “Consent” to change it to single opt-in.
