How to segment with impact to increase ROI

  Behavioral segments   By analyzing customer behavior such as past purchases, browsing history, and engagement levels, you can create segments that reflect specific actions. This is especially helpful when you’re running a sale or other promotion, and there are reminder emails being sent after the initial announcement.   If someone places an order after getting the sale announcement campaign, they’ll ideally start receiving your post-purchase flow. At this point, they don’t need to receive additional reminders about your sale, so segment them out of the recipients for reminder emails.   Pro-tip: The way I build a segment like this is: IF someone has Received Email where Campaign Name = [your sale announcement] AND has Opened Email OR Clicked Email where Campaign Name = [your sale announcement] AND has Placed Order at least once in the last 3-7 days. The time frame will vary based on how many days there are between your announcement email and your reminder email; often 3-5 days is

Just a quick note that I have found the solution myself if anyone else is trying or going to try this workaround as I didn’t hear anything from support.You simply need to add {{ catalog_item.url }} to the image link address to make it clickable and not just a simple image.

@Taylor Tarpley I was so exited about this workaround, but now I am not so happy anymore. I don’t know if I am doing something wrong or it should work in this way. The generated feeds are beautiful and even displayed correctly in Outlook, but… those feeds are only images and do not link to the actual product. Unfortunately, this is not so useful. To clarify, I do not use any links, product names or buttons below every image. I want just beautiful clean collage like pictured in the first post.

I just wanted to pop in and say thank you once again for your suggestion @Taylor Tarpley.Today, I finally had the time to try your suggested workaround and want to say that it worked. It took about 30 mins to figure out how those custom product blocks works, but finally I did it!Just want to say to other Klaviyo users that it is not as complicated as it looks. And now as I am able to use those blocks I will be able to use them more in my marketing strategy further automating more tasks.

Lead magnet to new and existing contacts

I am having the same issue with the deliverability of two lead magnets (pdf downloads).  I’ve setup a Welcome series with a conditional split based on the sign up form. Then it delivers the freebie A or the freebie B. It works quite well, except the scenario when person subscribes via one form and then immediately (after 5-10 min or so) subscribes via another hoping to get both freebies. In this case the person gets only one freebie which is not very good experience for the potential customer. The other problem is when existing subscriber fills out the form to get the same freebie again. In order to deliver the second freebie I’ve setup a segment triggered flow, but this doesn’t work if the person joins the segment again (wants to get freebie for the second time). I am just wondering how Klaviyo itself has solved this problem, because they have a lot of freebies. @lorenmn offers a workaround that will deliver the freebie, but is not good option for me because I use double opt and peopl

Create a show/hide condition block depending on profile marketing permission

Hi @David To , Thank you for your reply. I want to send Abandonment Checkout reminder and add information that we will not add the person to our email list for other marketing messages mentioning that they receive the message because they left something in our cart. And obviously I do not want to show this message to our existing subscribers. I think this does not violate any terms and policies.

Thank you for the clarification @In the Inbox . One more thing: Does Recently Viewed Products feed would work correctly in every flow (e.g. Birthday Flow) or only in Browse Abandonment flow (triggered by Viewed Product event)?

Best practice for Sunset Flow

Thank you Matthew for sharing your experience.I think it’s quite logical to sunset disengaged profiles over 90 days. What do you do with the disengaged segment (quoted below)? Do they enter sunset flow as well?  Tread all “total brand disengaged” profiles as non engaged (use the same conditions as the brand engagement segment but use AND conditions to be exclusive)

Thank you very much for your detailed answer. I am using a plugin for those back in stock emails at the moment so I thought it would be great to get rid of the plugin and do this with Klaviyo. As it is not possible at the moment, I’ll wait till your developers will solve this :)

Product feed images/thumbnails so small!

I am having the same problem as well with product blocks. In gmail they are displayed in big size, but in outlook the product images appear thumbnail size.

EMAIL SUDDENLY GO TO SPAM BOX

My couple of last campaigns have very low open rate and I just found out that my emails go to SPAM folder as well. What’s more interested that I inspected my SPAM (gmail) folder and 90% of emails there were sent via Klaviyo! Something is going on here.I have also noticed that emails now go via shared domain and not dedicated (as I assume it was previously).

Best practice for Sunset Flow

Hi @Tomb , Thank you for sharing your ideas. I have a Winback Flow for those, who are inactive but made a purchase with me. While in Sunset Flow I include the profiles that were not active and did not purchased anything. I’ve read a lot of articles on creating a Sunset Flow and most of them do not advice to offer a discount to cold profile which I think is quite logical, because you are not going to purchase anything if you are not interested even with a discount. Also, I do not want to sound desperate with crazy discounts while I offer them really rarely.

I want to create 3 browse abandoment flows, what happens if someone triggers all 3...?

Hi @armedandgorgeous , I am having the same situation as you with Browse Abandonment Flow. Sometimes people look at one item on the website, but then they show interest in to another category by viewing more products from it. The email is sent with the first product, but maybe the interest in not there anymore.I am thinking to create a segments of people who viewed lets say at least three products from one category and then send emails with products of that category. What I can’t figure out is how to insert the product from that category that person viewed.

Browse Abandonment emails while sending Welcome Flow

Hi Taylor, Thank you for your response. I, actually use the profile property to identify if a profile has finished Welcome flow in order not to send Campaigns to them and was wondering if I should remove them from Browse abandonment flow as well.

How to collect customer existing birthday?

Add the Birthday to your Manage Preferences page.  See this Klaviyo Documentation: Alternative: Collect Birthdays Using a Subscribe/Manage Preferences Page ​​​​​ I am trying to set this up also, but cannot find the Birthday field on my Manage Preferences page. I do not have any date field. Any suggestions?

I have contacted support and was told that is impossible to do what I am trying to. Personalized Recommendation is meant to offer recommendations and to show products that person has browsed on the website.

I did try this tactic, unfortunately, it does not work. Every person gets the same product recommendation and not the product he/she was browsing.So something is not working with this feature.
