Active On Site (and following) events not working – Shopify App Embed Integration

In case someone comes across this thread: I managed to fix the issue (my mistake), the Klaviyo support kindly pointed out that at that time when he executed the command window.Shopify.customerPrivacy.userCanBeTracked()with the console log, the return was false, which leads to that Klaviyo will not track onsite events for the user, independent of the Klaviyo snippets and codes installed.(More information on how to set and update this in the Shopify documentation here: https://shopify.dev/docs/api/customer-privacy) It appeared that the analytics consent tracking field needed to be set to True, which was then not the case.Solution:It was already described in the Cookiebot manual:  https://support.cookiebot.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006184253-Shopify-installationI missed the first part "Enabling the Customer Privacy API ", after setting this up, all works (also the Shopify session tracking which was broken until that point, btw.)

@retention Following up: I just did a quick test of deactivating the Cookiebot script completely.This solves the back in stock error messages in the console - but the back in stock functionality still does not appear on the product page.Also the Active On Site event is not being tracked on Klavyio-side, tested with the method described here: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/4425956184731Any ideas welcome!!

@retention Thank you very much for your reply. I’ll have a closer look into the impact of Cookiebot. However, I’ve also in the meantime deactivated the auto-blocking which didn’t help. I’ll try to move it further down. But at the same time, it can’t be a solution to outrun Cookiebot?!And I was thinking that so far Klaviyo always managed to work/had a pretty high “threshold” until it’s actually being blocked. Now when I open the website in Firefox with the Standard Privacy setting I already receive the notification in the console:Request for access to cookies or storage for "https://static.klaviyo.com/onsite/js/klaviyo.js?company_id=YugZdJ" has been blocked because it originates from an activity tracking element (tracker) and page element blocking is enabled. Not sure if this is already part of the problem, but I expect most of the users to have at least these settings active (and remember, I still have “allow all” in my cookie settings) and the integration shouldn’t be so “delicate”?!

Back in Stock Flow not sending to suppressed profiles

HI @alex.hong ,I’ve received feedback from Support, unfortunately they don’t see a BIS-notification as a transactional email but with sole purpose for marketing :Thank you for reaching out and for sharing the Community post. Unfortunately, Back in Stock emails cannot be marked transactional as they contain marketing material whose sole purpose is to engage the recipient and increase the likelihood of a sale. We have more information about the types of emails that are considered transactional in our guide on How to use flows to send transactional emails.  What I would recommend is adding a "subscribe/opt in" checkbox to your back in stock signup modal so that customers give your permission for marketing emails/to send them an email and if they were suppressed/unsubscribed, they will be unsuppressed by checking that box. Hi @alex.hong ,I noticed the same behaviour (skipped BIS notification due to suppression of the profile) which doesn’t seem sensible to me – assuming that the customer might have unsubscribed from the newsletter but is still expecting to be notified and won’t check the availability on its own again.We’ve integrated the BIS using the provided snippet (https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001895651-How-to-Install-Back-in-Stock-for-Shopify) into our vintage Shopify theme (not 2.0).What do I have to do to make sure the notification will also be send out to suppressed profiles?Or do I have to change the integration to API (I hope not as my knowledge about that is probably not sufficient…)?Thanks,Stephan

Hi @alex.hong ,the Support team has indeed now moved our account back to use a shared click tracking domain for the time being as requested, so the links are functional again.It’s been really frustrating over the past 10 days, we lost all Easter campaigns etc. But anyway.I’ll tackle the actual issue of setting up dedicated click tracking another time.Thanks for your supportStephan

Hi @alex.hong ,Thanks for your reply.Exactly, the help article steps didn’t apply for me as we’re working with A2 Hosting, using cPanel for configuration.The first step (creating CNAME entries) was of course easily possible to follow and after that I got in touch with your support team. If I understood it correctly, they already at that point made the setting that SSL is being used?! Maybe it is something else but I can’t see any settings – however, the links in the test-emails don’t work since then and there hasn’t been any feedback on my questions and follow-ups.I’ve been in touch with the a2hosting Support if they have an idea for the correct settings, also pointing out your help articles.Their reply was:“[…] please note that the article describes the process to add an SSL using a CDN, unfortunately I'm not familiar with "klaviyo" and the best option would be to contact their support directly and ask for further assistance.Also note that our autoSSL uses a DCV verification, and to p

Hi @alex.hong ,Thank you for the explanation. Unfortunately the manual process of identifying profiles that made use of their personalized coupon they got as a reward for signing up to the list is not really feasible in this context. But if you manage to include that option in the future I think this would be helpful!Until then it might be of help to include this detail into the documentation or at least use a different term for setting up the filter than “contains” as this misleads to a false solution I was given in the first place…Thanks and have a good dayStephan

Conditional Split in Flow: How does the "contains" filter works for Discount Coupon?

Hi there,I’d like bring this topic up again as it seems that the solution doesn’t work as hoped.Without any deep digging or testing based on the stats along the flow it looks highly unlikely that this functions…What came to my attention is that when you set up the filter and fill out “contains” all so far existing coupon codes are being suggested, as well as the one I entered before (“WELCOME”) which is only the prefix of all coupons that are meant. So it seems its not necessary a “contains” but rather a specific definition.Any ideas from anyone?!ThanksStephan

@Bobi N. Thanks for your reply and apologies for the delayed reaction.This is a very interesting approach that I have not thought of yet! Two questions that came to my mind:Showing a Sign Up Form only to non existing subscribers probably takes into account if the profile is subscribed to any list within the account and not only refers to the list or segment we want the user to add? So in case someone is already in another list “Newsletter” that has nothing to do with this setup, Form A wouldn’t be shown? The described approach now covers 2 updates of the profile, right? So in case we would want to be able to allow another update of the profile through a sign up form including sending the confirmation with another Flow started, this would require some sort of “chain” (As described by you above, but continued with Form & Flow C, D, E…)?A shame there’s no trigger that uses “Profile updated” or even better “Custom Property xy updated”…ThanksStephan

Actually I got a fast reply @david.to :You can access locale codes like "en" or "de" via liquid via {{ request.locale.iso_code }}Is that something I can use within Klaviyo?Thanks, Stephan

I have reached out to Langify with that request and will post the reply as soon as I get one.Also thank you for the second proposal – and if anyone has another idea, happy to hear about those.I think the setup Shopify + Langify + Klaviyo is more and more common one and it would be great to share experiences.A more general question out of curiousity: How come that a property like language is not a “standard” property? Multilingual email-marketing must be a challenge for many users? Or is this individualization rather done based on the location of the users?Thanks

How to get Shopify language Data to Segment List?

Hi there,The solutions above sound very helpful but I wonder, if someone has managed to find a way to add/edit  a custom property just based on the information provided by Langify?As Caroline mentioned, Langify includes the a language tag in the events but I wonder if there’s a way how to use that on Klaviyo’s end?Our current setup is a Standard Shopify shop, two languages with Langify (de/en) and Klaviyo.For signing up we have separate sign-up forms that are displayed based on the URL (if the URL includes  …/de → use the German form and add a custom property “DE” to the user, if not use the English form and include property “EN”).Within our flows we have a conditional split based on this property.However, this tag is only set when signing up for the specific forms, any other collected data have the langify attribute but not the tag, same for the customers that sign up during the checkout process.Has anyone the same problem or maybe even a solution?ThanksStephan
