Running a giveaway using a signup page on my website

Hi Joseph, So our current email signup list on shopify does integrate directly with Klaviyo. However we are now running a giveaway, where entrants can sign up to our mailing list from a different page on our site, so will still come into Klaviyo, however we want to separate people who sign up via this page from our  general sign up page, so we can keep an eye on who are contestants!  Is this possible?

Hi Alex,So yes we’ve created a unique page on our Ecom provider with a signup form, but it has a generic email signup box provided by the theme developers. So in order for it to create a unique list separate from my current email signups, I will need to embed a Klaviyo signup form? How do I go about doing this, are there some guides available? Thanks, Ben

Hi Alex,sorry for the late reply. Just to see if i am understanding it correctly, so i will create a new list for the giveaway entrants (so no one will be in the list yet). I then need to take the URL for this list and put it into the sign up page on our Shopify theme page for our giveaway sign ups?

How exactly can you put this code in so it redirects from Shopify onto Klaviyo. I have looked it up and can’t seem to find anyone who shows you how, thanks.

Hi Alex,we have since decided to just try and embed a klaviyo sign up form to then go to our list. The embedding of the code i was struggling with so tried a pop up and fly out sign up form. Once an email address has been put it, it registers it as a submitted form but doesn’t put anyone into the list? I was wondering if you could help with this?

Hi, this helped me as well thanks! Is there a way to do this to exclude people who have recently  purchased too? I want to sent a flash sale campaign but don’t want it to go to people who have just  paid full price! Thanks

Hi @brewcrew , Glad this thread was useful. That would depend on how you track those customers who have purchased. If there is a property that is added to them or some segment of buyers, then you could just create a flow to exclude those people. Another way would be to add a filter that excludes those that have placed an order within a certain time frame.  Thanks Alex, how do you add an exclusion filter for a campaign?

Got it thanks! If I wanted to update this profile property to then update when they completed the flow, would I have to wait for the flow to go live and for someone to enter the flow? As I can’t see an option for it at the moment? Thank you!

  @brewcrew , It is just another step you add to the flow. The update step would just be placed at the end. Hi Alex, I understand this, however I can’t see an option for this at the moment, is this because the flow isn’t live yet and no one has entered it yet? Thanks

Hello @brewcrew , Can you clarify what you mean when you mean when you can't see an option? Are you talking about the dropdown dimension? If so, that means no one has been in the flow yet as our dimensions to filter are only available based on things that have already happened. The Update Profile Property step in our flows wouldn't matter if the flow was Live or in Draft and that the Update Profile Property action should be available like any other action for a flow.     Hi Alex, yep I’m talking about the dropdown dimension. So I can only set up the flow to remove people from the list when someone has entered the flow?

Conditional split configuration 'contains'

Hey @brewcrew, Glad to see you back in the Community! I think this would all depend on how your custom Checkout Success event is built. Since the event seems to be defaulting to using an “equals” logic, I would assume this data is in a text data type format. Hence, why you don’t have the “contains” logic available.  This means that it would be passing only one set of data points. Only Checkout Success events that only equal “Eterno” would be filtered down the YES path.  My colleague, @alex.hong explained this a bit in the Community posts below that I think would be helpful to review: I hope this helps! David Hi Daivd, thanks  for you reply, interestingly I’m given the option to have the cart as  ‘contains’ for when the flow filter is set to checkout success is equal to one:It’s only in the next flow where the checkout success is equal to two where it is set to ‘equals’So the aim here is to have the customer only  receive the email if both of their carts have never contained eterno,

Thanks for the reply Katherine - Ok great, so if the action “is over all time”, it can be assumed that the conditional split data is taken from before the customer entered the flow? So zero purchases of “Eterno” if the order which prompted them to enter the flow was their first for “Eterno” ?

How would I configure a trigger split to allow me to trigger the correct if someone has ordered Eterno twice over all time, or if it’s their  first order - I want the email to be different depending on if it’s their  first or second order :) Do i Just  have to change the conditional split from zero to one?

Hi Omar - yes I think you’re right, it is to our domain and came up in the same overview as our ‘contact us’ spam. Thanks so much! Should be good for normal emails then

Hey,  Just revisiting this. With the method of uploading coupons, how do I add an expiry window for after it’s sent. For example, I want a coupon to be used in my win-back flow that will last for 48 hours from the time it is sent. Thanks!

Hi David, Thanks for this. I understand that  I have to upload them into stripe as well. However, I’m not sure how I’d go about setting the expiry date to a certain amount of time after an email send. So for our customer winback flow we’d like to send a discount code that will expire a week after the email is sent. Thanks, Ben

Ahh ok, we have a custom website and don’t use shopify. Do you have any recommendations on setting up customer winback flows if we can’t set variable expiry times in this way? Ideally we want to give only a certain amount of time for the codes to be used, to be sent, say after a month of their first order. Thanks! Hey @brewcrew, When it comes to uploaded coupons, you would only be able to select a specific date they expire on. Only coupons generated through a support ecommerce platform - like Shopify  - will offer you the option of a variable expiration date. Additionally, variable expiration dates would only be supported in flow messages. Uploaded coupons, similar to unique coupons used in campaigns would need to be generated in advance to accommodate the recipient count. Hence why a variable expiration date wouldn’t be supported for these two options.  David
