API documentation needs correction.

 _learnq is expecting a Javascript object rather than a JSON string. I hope that is helpful! When I hand _learnq the object it fails if the keys are like ’key’ and works for “key”.I do not believe this is my specific environment, it affects both Firefox and Chrome so I do not think it is a browser issue.It might be worth looking into for future customers who are looking for a custom integration.

Hi Dov,I have already fixed the issue I was having, I did so by bringing the object in the second array position into compliance with JSON by changing the single quotes to double quotes. In my particular instance I was using Bolt checkout’s callbacks to trigger a track Started Checkout for Klaviyo.Because my identify call was failing, due to the single quote issue, track Started Checkout was not firing/communicating back to Klaviyo. Here is some code for others facing issues. I assure you the issue was poor documentation which is what I am trying to report since the “Did this help you” modal failed to fire. Webhooks for Custom integrations

  We can only receive data via Webhooks   @Taylor Tarpley (or anyone else),   Where can I find documentation for receiving webhooks? I’m trying to make a custom integration and already have the data packaged on JSON from the source. I’m currently sending it to Zapier and then trying to make a custom event from there, but I’m running into limitations. And if you say Klaviyo already accepts webhooks, I could cut out the step with Zapier completely. Webhooks for Custom integrations

Thank you for the answer about Klaviyo initiating the communication.Does anyone have thoughts on the following part of my communication?We are not looking for anyone to write anything for us, we are looking for confirmation that this API based approach is at least a decent one, but that we would be open to a different method. At the present it feels like we need to cron a script on our end to either make a request for the unsubscribe metric or we need to move people to a special list on unsubscribes and check that list.Please correct me if there is a better way, Follow up question:Are there any existing solutions for this problem in the “library” of supplied integrations? Since our platform is a custom one I did not dig into the integrations offered for say Magento. Does Kalviyo offer what I am asking for in any of those and can we enable one feature of an integration or are those all or nothing? My thought being my team can easily create the necessary code on our end to support such a

I understand completely, our team is pretty used to being the outlier, and, if I were on the hook for a potential avalanche of Can-Spam penalties I would make the same decision. :-)

Thank you for the extra info Alex, one last request and then I shall leave y’all alone for a bit.Please clarify how deleting a profile would be a violation of the Can-Spam Act.

It’s been 8 months, is there now a delete function in the API?If not, what is the time line on such a feature?In the meantime we’ll see what we can do from the client side.

Empty Custom Properties issue and workaround

Thank you for the suggestion, we did discuss such a solution internally and decided we would rather have to deal with the clunkiness of a two part solution in our Klaviyo abstraction layer rather than rewrite our own established API.I figured empty was a no go when we tested and discovered keys with empty strings were dropped. I was hoping there was a mechanism we could leverage that was perhaps not well documented but known by a Klaviyo guru.Thank you for taking the time to propose a solution.
