Multi-step Signup Form: SMS Coupon Code

Hi David, thank you for the help. I’ll give this a try. I have my signup form subscribers going to my main list (Newsletter) and main SMS list. Should I be creating a new segment for these subscribers (aka sign up form) or just leave them in the main lists? What’s the best practice here? Thanks again!

Hello Taylor, thank you so much for the detailed and informative reply. To answer your question, on my multi-step signup form, the first step is offering 10% discount on the first purchase and the following step in the signup form is an extra 5% code via SMS good for their second purchase. I could be wrong in thinking this, but the idea here is to offer an incentive in exchange for their SMS opt-in and at the same time enable us to promote a re-order or second purchase. I’d love to know your thoughts on this type of approach and if you think it will work or not. The standard Klaviyo multi-step signup form had the Email offer at 10% and then the SMS offer was to receive the 10% via text instantly, which is fine but I thought just offering to get the same code sent via text (instead of only email) wasn’t really a big enough incentive.

I think I figured out a potential issue with my intentions. With the multi-step signup form’s first step asking for email, if the user clicks no thanks and then gets sent to the SMS opt-in with 5% extra offer, that wouldn’t make sense for this person who might not want to opt-in via email but would rather opt-in via SMS only so in that case, they wouldn’t be able to get the 10% initial offer and we could lose the sale using this method. Unless you can think of a workaround, such as adding a conditional step to the multi-step signup form,  I think I will just stick with the conventional multi-step signup form. Thoughts? Thank you!

@Taylor Tarpley question for you regarding sending coupon codes in the multi-step signup form. How do I send the same exact (unique) coupon code to the user when they opt in to email AND sms? They should only be getting one unique coupon code if they sign up for BOTH so how do I do this in Klaviyo?

How to add an image behind a text block?

Would be really great if Klaviyo added the ability to overlay text over an image block or at least allow table block where the background can be set as an image and then we can add text into one of the tables as a workaround.

Why does the Abandoned Cart for Woocommerce have 'Started checkout zero times since entering this flow' as part of the trigger?

Hi @GoodVibes123,    The Flow Filter ‘Started Checkout zero times since being in this flow’ will prevent someone from receiving an abandon cart email if they have gone back to their cart, after initially abandoning their checkout, since being in the flow.   @Taylor Tarpley Thank you for the response and assistance! So based on what you’re saying, wouldn’t it defeat the purpose of an abandoned cart email if I set a filter “started checkout zero times since being in this flow” since they will NOT get any abandoned cart emails? Let’s say the user visits the checkout page the first time and then visits again through the Abandoned Cart 1 email but doesn’t checkout, don’t I want them to still get Abandoned Cart 2 email? How would you recommend that I setup my standard Abandoned Cart flow’s (triggers and filters)? Sorry, I’m trying to wrap my head around all of this.

How to change the font color for unsubscribe and manage preferences

@alex.hong thank you for the help. I tried your source code and it worked however it didn’t work for the Manage Preferences tag that I have next to the Unsubscribe tag. See screenshot below. Email Drag and Drop Designer Keeps Moving My Unsubscribe Block Above Other Content

Hey @GoodVibes123  Klaviyo just announce during our Product Event today, that the email template editor has just made a major update giving you more control and flexibility when designing your emails. Please log back into your account and try out the new template editor, as this may solve the challenge with your manage preference and unsubscribe block moving on you! @stephen.trumble Thanks for the update! I just tried to logout, refresh, and log back in but I don’t notice any differences for the email editor. Do you have a write-up of features or change log? Thanks

Lack of drag-and-drop functionality from HTML template

Awesome thank you, this precisely explains what I was looking for. Did you ever find a better workaround to using third-party HTML email templates in Klaviyo? The current workaround (mentioned here) doesn’t really present a scalable option, more of a hack, that essentially defeats the purpose of importing an HTML email template in the first place. I hope Klaviyo improves this area of their platform.

Can I create a Conditional Split for Email Subscribers Who Came From Specific Page URL?

Okay I dug around a bit more and think I can achieve this by the following:Setup different signup forms for each offer I want to give and then set the workflow as such:Create a 10% off signup form (embedded) called “10% off signup form signup” and the subscribe button of the form will have the Submit Hidden Fields setting set to Source > 10% off signup form signup so that Klaviyo tracks this form is the source of the subscriber. Embed the signup form onto a unique landing page on my site (website.com/10code) so they only see this offer and not any other offer (for other events). From there I can put a conditional split on my flow Properties About Someone > $Source > Contains > 10% off signup form signup”. YES or NO. If YES, they get the 10% off email. If NO, they receive the other offer(s).  Does this sound like the right way to achieve this?

@retention @cassy.lee @alex.hong is there a way to migrate older templates (or saved sections) created in the old editor into the new template editor or do we have to recreate the emails in the new editor? Thanks

Email Builder Issues - Will Not Save Design Properly

Okay I narrowed down the issue to your cloning feature. When I clone the section and move it to another part of the email, it just saves it in the original position. Only way around this for me was to just create the section from scratch (not cloning).

Klaviyo Post Purchase Email with Points Earned

@Dov thank you so much for the reply and assistance. The plugin I am using is called Woocommerce Points & Rewards and although this particular plugin doesn’t give me the ability to create a Klaviyo custom property, Woocommerce stores the points data with the user/customer profile. As such, based on what you are telling me, can we use this points data that is stored in Woocommerce to call it out in a Klaviyo email? For example, customer makes a purchase on my website and earns 100 points. Those points will be stored in the database on my website under the customer’s profile (email address). On Klaviyo’s user profile, we should be able to see the Points associated with the user and in turn use the person look-up tag to call it out in an email. Does that sound like it will work?

@dov according to Woocommerce Points and Rewards dev team, here is how the points are stored on the database: Points are stored in the $prefix . ‘_wc_points_rewards_user_points` table. When we query the total points a user has, we do a sum of all the items with the same user id in the list. How can I create an automated way for klaviyo to capture this as a custom property for user profile?

Can I block certain names (spam) from ending up on my profile list?

Tonight at 10:15pm I also started getting non-stop unique (bot) email subscribers with the domain @fakemail.com. My site is on wordpress/woocommerce. I had to turn on double opt-in to get it to stop but I don’t always want to have double opt-in turned on. This is annoying AF.
