New Customer Profile UI Feedback

  I also really really dislike that the new UI now identifies emails by the campaign name instead of the subject line. It makes sense, of course, except that I have all my flows structured with the subject line being much more descriptive and relevant than the campaign name, because that’s how Klaviyo had their UI set up. My campaign names are things like “Teaching Email 1”, “Sales Email 4”…  They’re not very descriptive because Klaviyo didn’t make them prominent in the old UI. So for Klaviyo to suddenly switch it up now in the new UI means I can no longer easily identify which email a subscriber has just received/opened/clicked and I have to now go in and rename all my campaigns just so the activity log is readable in the new UI. Again, really frustrating. Yeah, this was a real pain point for me as well. Especially if I’m sending multiple campaigns with the same subject line for segmentation purposes.

Just wanted to hop back in here and say that the new wider layout for activity is appreciated. This has made it a bit easier to read activity and to have more events on screen at once.

Thanks for the response, Isabel. I’m looking at the profile on a smaller screen right now too. There is certainly less dead space, but I’m still perplexed on the real-estate choices here.I know subscription status is important, but wow, it has really taken up a lot of space for something that is essentially “subscribed” or “not subscribed.” Just look at how much room it takes up for Email and SMS compared to the activity log: I am happy to hear the log will get more attention though. I’m hoping to see that sooner than later. Good to know this makes updates easier as well.​​​​​

The new layout is certainly snazzier, but it contains a lot less useful information on it. Alina, what sort of information did you find to be more difficult to access? I’m curious if we had the same issues (for me it’s a profile’s activity and metrics.)

@ayyub_here Good point, dunno why I didn’t think of that. Does still end up being more extra steps than should be necessary imo, but a good work around for now.

Signup Form Drop Off Point?

Ah, good idea about checking for preferences within the group that joined via the form, I will have to try that. I’d love it if you could submit that as a feature request, but I think this will serve my purposes well too!Thanks for the response, Taylor! I will keep these pages you linked on file for when I’m next working on the sign up form.

How to collect properties for each recipient?

I would use the link to send customers to a webpage with a Klaviyo form in it. You can build out an embedded form to plug into a specific site page. The forms have a block that allows for multicheck boxes which I believe can each be tied to a different property value. You’ll need to link the form with a list, but I’d just make a dummy list since you care more about getting different values to build out customer segments.We have a set up like this running on our newsletter sign up page and it works pretty well. Should work similarly if you send it to existing customers as a campaign, but I’d test it yourself first to make sure.

Newsletter form is too long when I test send. All sections aren't visible and gets cut off.

David’s got some good info there (and not just because he ref’d my post, ha ha!)You might also want to try shortening the length of the email if possible. I know I’ve had to do that a few times by cutting out some stuff at the end. It’s an unfortunate reality of working with Gmail inbox limitations.Maybe try using links to articles on your site instead of putting everything into one email? We send out a newsletter with some interesting stories in it to our customers from time to time and they’d get pretty overstuffed if we put all the text in.The important take away is that the problem lies with the data size of the email, not the physical length. Lowering text and image sizes might help a bit, but that article David posted is probably going to be your best resource for the issue.

How to check which product customer bought from Flow emails?

Yep. Go to flows and hit edit flow on your onboarding email. Click the email block and hit “View all Analytics” in the side tab. Go to overview and look for “Placed Order.” Next to that, you should see a link marked “Who.” Click that and you can see all the customers order. Hitting the “details” drop down gives you the products ordered.
