Hi @alex.hong ,thanks for your reply. You are right, there is no 100% perfect way. With the DOI it has to work properly though, as otherwise you can get into trouble especially in GDPR countries.I think your approach with including the main list in the flow trigger segment’s definition is the way to go.  I’m going to edit the existing segments accordingly, so we don’t have those problems in the future.CheersMax

Why Are Both Shopify and Klaviyo Sending Confirmation Emails for Double Opt-In?

Hi @drainyoo,I’m right now in almost the same situation as you one year ago, so I researched about how to avoid the double double-opt-ins from Klaviyo and Shopify.I was thinking about just turning off the DOI in Shopify. In this scenario, in my understanding, people who want to receive marketing information and create an account or buy something in my shop just land in my main Klaviyo list and then receive the DOI email from Klaviyo.However, you mentioned often times that “If you turn off double opt-in on the Shopify side, then it auto subscribes people” - what do you mean by that?If you turn off DOI in Shopify, doesent it just mean they will not receive a DOI-email? If they have not clicked the “I want to receive newsletter”-box in the first place, they should not be subscribed also with DOI off. And if they clicked this box, they will receive the DOI email from Klaviyo.Could you maybe describe that?Thanks and greetingsMax

Flow email triggers very slowly after simple segmentation

Hi @stephen.trumble ,thanks for your quick reply!What integration do you mean? I currently have Klaviyo synced with Shopify and am using a standard Klaviyo form. The data gets updated in the properties almost immediately, so the delay must come from the segments/flows No, the segment and flow setups are really as simple as stated in my original post. Form submission changes value in “source” and this value in “source” is the only entry rule for the segment. Sorry for that typo. I wanted to say that there is no conditional split in it. The email is the first and only action in the flow.I tested it again yesterday and it took about 15 minutes, which is a slight improvement, but still very long for this kind of operation.

Whats the difference between accepts marketing and the Newsletter list?

Hi @alex.hong ,okay, this basically means in the future, we will be sending our emails to the created segment, rather than the main list.While this is a practical solution, to be honest, I still dont understand what lead to some of the profiles end up in the list, while others didnt get into it. They all are Shopify contacts, so they all should qualify by “Accepts Marketing”, the separate, Shopify-specific property. Or do only customers who checked out something get into the list, while the others are for example newsletter subscribers, who consented, but didnt buy anything?Anyway, thank you for your support!

Whats the difference between accepts marketing and the Newsletter list?

Hi @alex.hong ,Thanks for your reply. I understand that not all profiles of my account get inserted into my main list, but I’m talking specifically about the profiles with marketing permission.The “Accepts marketing” segment contains 2000 profiles (in Shopify I can confirm this number). After the sync, my main list, however, only contains 700 profiles.So if I send out a newsletter right now, there are 1300 profiles that would not receive it even though I have their marketing permission. Is there any way to insert all profiles from the “Accepts marketing” segment into my main list?This is basically the question of the original post .Thanks,Max

Hi @alex.hong ,I basically have the same issue, but the answers above did not really help me understanding it.I integrated Shopify into Klaviyo. On the initial integration settings page, I chose to subscribe the Shopify customers who accept marketing into my main list. After the integration, however, I now have 700 contacts in my main list, but the “Accepts marketing” segment contains 2000 contacts.What went wrong here? All I want is to have all contacts who accept marketing in Shopify being added to my Klaviyo main list automatically.How can I achieve that?Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot!However, if a contact first submits Form A and weeks later Form B, he will leave the “Source = Form A” segment and enter the “Source = Form B” segment, as the property gets overwritten, right?That would ensure he then receives the Form B welcome journey, but what if I want to send a follow up email to everyone who has submitted Form A after a few months? The source property of this certain contact would not contain the info that he once submitted Form A.In other tools, I’ve seen static lists for these kind of operations that contacts can be added to. What would be the way to go with Klaviyo?Cheers!

Hi @alex.hong ,thanks for your quick and helpful reply.Okay, following your best practice this would mean I set up:Three different forms that send contacts to the same list “Newsletter” (DOI email will be send here) Create three segments based on the specific submitted form Create three flows that are triggered by contacts being added into one of the segments above (Including the specific emails like PDF download etc.)Does that make sense?Just one more question regarding that approach: How can I create a segment based on a submitted form? Do I have to use the conditions described above (“Properties about someone” > “$source” equals “name of form”)?If yes, what happens if a contact submits “form A”, and a week later “form B”? Will he be removed from the segment for “form A” because the $source property changes to “form B” once he has submitted that? For our analytics it would be great if we could see the multiple forms a contact has submitted over his life time.Thanks a lot!Max

How to trigger an email flow with a Signup Form

Hi @Dov ,Thanks for your great explanation. I’m just starting with Klaviyo and it helped a lot to understand the tool’s logic.We’re using different forms (e.g. “Newsletter signup”, “Download free pdf”, “Download trial”) whose submission should be followed by different emails. However at the end, we want to contact all those subscribers with our general newsletter.Is the best practice to set up one list per form and maybe create a segment that includes all these lists to send to, or would you recommend to use one list and send out the various follow up emails via one flow (as you described above).I understood now, that I could set up up one flow with different legs for each form.However, what happens if a contacts submits mulitple forms (first “Newsletter signup” and a week later “Download free pdf)?Will the contact enter the flow again, on the other tree? Will the DOI email be send again even though it had been confirmed before, after submitting the previous form? What happens if an un
