Hi,

Is it possible to trigger a pop up or sign up form once a customer adds an item to their cart?

Hi @eprimmer ,

Welcome to the Community.

There's not a way to have a Signup Form pop up when someone takes a specific action (like clicking Add to Cart), unfortunately.

You can tinker with the Behaviors Tab in your Form, using the different options to set the pop up to show to a certain List/Segment or on a certain URL (i.e. URL containing /cart would have the Form show when customers are looking in their cart).

I know it's not a perfect option, but we have a lot of behavior customization that may still allow you to accomplish your goal. If you're looking to capture customers that have added items to cart I'd recommend exploring flows and segments with the condition being "added to cart".

Hey @eprimmer, curious - what kind of messaging would you have on that pop-up form if it could be done? (I don’t have a workaround, but wondering if there’s another on-site tactic that would be better).

Usually when someone adds an item to cart, a cart drawer or pop-up shows.  Having a sign-up form pop up at that time may not be the best UX or time to show a sign up message.

Just trying to improve sign up rate to our newsletter. I hypothesized that getting the alert for a 10% discount for signing up after already showing interest in a product would be more convincing. Your idea to combine it with the cart drawer is good. However, unfortunately I don’t have access to the website itself so I can’t implement it.

Hi and thanks for the detailed reply!

I’ll try to find a workaround with URL’s or button clicks.

Looking for something similar but based on cart value in order to trigger a GWP reminder.

@Aves3888 Klaviyo isn’t able to get the cart value.  For that, I’d look for an app or a developer to make that work for you in your eCommerce site.  If you’re on Shopify, I’ve used Rebuy and you can do some interesting things with cross-sells and GWP offers in the cart.
