We are a bike shop, and we would like to set up a service notification for a few things. Our POS is Lightspeed. First off is this even possible? And can someone point me in the right direction.

SMS we want to send:

  • Reminder of upcoming appointment.
  • Confirmation of appointment.
  • Notice that job is finished.

Thanks!

I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to. In fact, one of the major appeals to our SMS capability is helping to create a positive experience with transactions - this includes sending notifications. Similar to how you would send notifications with emails using a metric triggered flow, the same can be done with SMS. You’ll simply need to replace those email steps with a SMS action

An additional thing to keep in mind too, unlike transactional emails, there’s no such thing as a “transactional” SMS status. This means if members have opted out of receiving SMS from your brand or have blocked your number, they would no longer receive any SMS from you going forward. For this reason, sometimes its best to also include an email in your flow as a backup.

I hope this helps!

David
