Hi everyone,

Can you use Klaviyo and track abandoned carts and abandoned checkouts if you have a single page checkout on your website? And whats the simplest way to do this?

I want to be able to send emails and SMS messages to users who have visited the website and have placed a product in the cart or filled out the checkout page but who have not purchased the product.

Many thanks.

Hi @Tallmale and welcome to the Community!

You can definitely use Klaviyo to track abandoned carts and abandoned checkouts on a single-page checkout, although the latter might be a tad trickier.

You definitely wouldn’t have any issues with the abandoned cart event since it’s automatically fired when a cookied site-visitor clicks on the add to cart button.

If you want to use a single page checkout and still trigger a started checkout event, it will probably have to be a custom event as opposed to a standard one from an e-commerce platform, so you can customize the mechanism that decides when the profile is recognized and trigger the event, like in this thread:

Customizing an event can take some extra development, so you’re always welcome to reach out to one of our wonderful Official Klaviyo Partners for further help!

Here’s some documentation that might also help with this task:
