Hello Klaviyo Community,

It’s currently costing me about £30 to make a sale on Facebook so I could easily afford to send anyone who refers a friend a £10-20 Amazon gift card or similar. My store is on Shopify.

How could I do that as part of a post purchase email campaign?

I’m looking for a simple solution that my customers can navigate easily.

Many thanks in anticipation,

Alan at ShowerSpaah

Hi @ShowerSpaah,

Good question!

While it is technically possible to build something like this using Shopify Flow and/or custom coupon codes, this would require quite a bit of manual labour.

My recommendation would be to have a give & get strategy - so the friend receives a discount of some sort (let’s say 10 pounds) and send the referrer a gift as well (let’s say 10 pounds). This means both people benefit.

I would recommend doing both of these as discounts/gift cards on your store rather than Amazon gift cards as this will encourage repeat orders.

One tool that might be worth looking at here is Okendo referrals. Their basic plan (up to 200 orders per month) is $19 per month - this should prove ROI positive pretty quickly.

I hope that helps!

Thanks
David

Hi Alan,

You can set up a referral program using Klaviyo and Shopify by integrating a tool like ReferralCandy or Yotpo. After a purchase, use Klaviyo to send an email with a referral link and details about the £10-20 Amazon gift card reward. This way, customers can easily refer friends and earn rewards.

Best of luck! 😎

Hi. thanks for the advice but both of those referral tools you suggest are quite expensive! I’m bootstrapping it for sure right now! 😎

Hi David, Many thanks for the reply and referral to Okendo, As a one product store giving the referrers a discount on my store isn’t really much use to them as they have already bought it. Hence the Amazon idea. Cold hard cash would work with my elderly audience but that is so last century!
