Hi,
im currently working on my welcome flow.
Should i exclude customers which have placed an order and checked the “receive newsletter”-box on checkout?
Whats the best practice?
Thanks

Hello
Thank you for posting your question in the community.
This is a great question!
Generally, I would say “yes” you would want to suppress new customers from your welcome series assuming the goal of the welcome series is to nurture a new website visitors to make their first purchase.
Ultimately, you’d want to also set up a post-purchase welcome flow specific to new customers to onboard them to your brand, what to expect with your product, etc. This would be best practice.
However, pending on your product offering and resource availability, you could create a split in your welcome series where you filter by purchase and if a new customer enters your welcome series they would receive a personalized thank you different from the welcome series a new lead might receive.
I hope this helps!
