Introduction
Welcome to the Klaviyo Community! The Klaviyo Community provides a place to discuss all things Klaviyo. The following terms are presented here so you know what is expected of you and what you can expect from fellow users.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Klaviyo Community forum (the “Community”). By accessing and using the Community, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Klaviyo, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “Klaviyo”), the company that runs the Community, may offer other products and services under different terms and conditions. These Terms apply only to the use of the Community, and Klaviyo reserves the right to modify these Terms from time to time by posting an updated version on the Community. Any updated version will become effective when posted. If you do not agree to any modified Terms, you may cease using the Community. Your continued use of the Community after such modification will constitute your acceptance of the modified Terms.
1. General Guidelines
When using the Community, please remember:

If you have any questions about Klaviyo or the Community, don’t hesitate to ask a moderator or fellow user - Stay on topic
For your and your fellow users’ benefit, please stay on topic. Keep your questions to one specific challenge you want to overcome, and make your answers relevant to the problem at hand. - Be kind and courteous
Stay mindful of the fact that everyone in the Community wants to have a positive experience. Do not post content that is offensive, abusive, or harmful to others. - Keep away from third-party advertising, spam, and malicious code
The Community is here to support and connect Klaviyo users. It is not meant to be a platform to promote third-party products, services, websites, or organizations. Avoid posting content that would be classified as spam, advertising, junk mail, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation. Further, do not share content that contains malicious computer code, such as computer viruses or spyware. - Be responsible
Most people are happy to help others in the Community, but remember that their advice is theirs only; you are responsible for deciding to follow it or not. If the advice given sounds risky or wrong, do not try it. - Keep private information as private
Do not post information that you don’t wish to be public. In addition, do not post others’ private and confidential information or infringe on their privacy. Further, moderator actions and the contents of private exchanges with moderators, staff members, and administrators should not be shared or discussed on the public forums. - Follow the law
Do not use the Community to break the law. This includes not posting content that is illegal in any way.
2. Prohibited Content
To ensure that everyone in the Community gets the most out of the forum, you agree to not:
- Use the Community other than in compliance with applicable laws;
- Submit content that disrespects other users, or is abusive, offensive, or threatening. This includes material that contains defamatory, racist, homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, obscene, indecent and/or pornographic content;
- Submit any content that infringes intellectual property rights, or otherwise violates a third party’s rights;
- Submit content that promotes a business or other commercial venture, or otherwise use the Community for commercial purposes;
- Buy, sell, or trade in usernames or other unique identifiers on the Community;
- Solicit personal information from other users of the Community;
- Automate access to the Community, or monitor the Community, such as with a web crawler, browser plug-in or add-on, or other computer program that is not a web browser. You may crawl the Community to index it for a publicly available search engine, if you run one;
- Post unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," or any other form of solicitation;
- Send bulk emails, surveys or other mass forms of messaging to distribution lists, newsgroups, or group mail aliases;
- Impersonate others or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with any person, group or entity, including falsely implying that you’re affiliated with or endorsed by Klaviyo;
- Hyperlink to images or other non-hypertext content on the Community on other webpages;
- Remove any marks showing proprietary ownership from materials you download from the Community;
- Show any part of the Community on other websites with iframe or otherwise reformat, redistribute or “frame” any portion of the Community;
- Disable, avoid, or circumvent, damage or otherwise interfere with any security or access-related features or restrictions of the Community, features that prevent or restrict the use or copying of content from the Community, or features that enforce limitations on the use of the Community;
- Submit to or through the Community any malware, viruses, Trojan horses, spyware, worms, or other malicious or harmful code;
- Strain infrastructure of the Community with an unreasonable volume of requests, or requests designed to impose an unreasonable load on information systems underlying the Community; or
- Encourage others to do any of the above
This is not an exhaustive list. Please use your best judgment when engaging in the Community.
If you believe someone has submitted content to the Community in violation of these Terms, please contact us.
3. Your Account
To take part in the Community, you must create and log into an account. You must be 13 years or older to make an account or use the Community.
If you create an account, you agree to provide, at a minimum, a valid e-mail address that is associated with Klaviyo and to keep that address up-to-date. You also must select a secure password for your account, and keep it secret. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials for the Community.
You may close your account at any time by following these instructions:
- Click on your avatar in the top right corner of the Community.
- Click on your user name in the dropdown menu > Preferences > Account > Delete my account.
You are solely responsible for all action taken using your account, whether authorized by you or not. You agree to (a) notify Klaviyo immediately at community@klaviyo.com if you suspect your password or account has been compromised or any other breach of security, and (b) ensure that you exit from your account at the end of each session. Klaviyo will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the confidentiality of your password and account.
Klaviyo may restrict, suspend, or close your account on the Community at any time and for any or no reason, including if we believe that you’ve breached any provision of these Terms.
4. Your Content
The content you submit to the Community belongs to you and are solely responsible for such content. Content submitted to the Community by you or other users is not endorsed by us and does not necessarily reflect our opinion, and you agree not to wrongly imply that content you submit to the Community is sponsored or approved by Klaviyo. Klaviyo has no obligation to store, maintain, or provide copies of content you submit and does not guarantee any confidentiality with respect to your content. If you disclose personal information in the Community, you do so at your own risk.
Klaviyo does not typically edit or pre-screen user content in the Community. However, Klaviyo reserves the right to remove, screen, edit, or reinstate content without notice to you for any reason or no reason, including if, in Klaviyo’s sole judgment, it does not adhere to the Terms or is otherwise objectionable, inappropriate, inaccurate, or harmful. Moderators may take any actions they deem appropriate to enforce these Terms, including, but not limited to, editing or deleting content and temporarily or permanently banning individual users.
By submitting your content to the Community, you hereby grant to Klaviyo a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, fully-paid, transferable and sub-licensable right to to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, and publicly display and perform your content (including your Feedback, as defined below) in connection with the Community and our business (including without limitation for our marketing and publicity purposes). Please do not post content on the Community if you do not want to grant Klaviyo the above mentioned rights.
5. No Official Support
Information, advice or other material of any kind posted on the Community is not official support provided by Klaviyo. Klaviyo employees or representatives may post on the Community, but this activity should not be seen as a replacement for official Klaviyo support activities and procedures. Klaviyo does not guarantee a response to any post on the Community. You understand that posts on the Community are addressed to your peers and other users and not Klaviyo and Klaviyo does not guarantee that any support issue will be addressed on the Community. For official support with account-related and payment-related questions, please contact us. You acknowledge that opinions expressed in content on the Community are those of contributors of such content only and do not reflect the opinions or policies of Klaviyo or its affiliates.
6. Feedback
Klaviyo welcomes your feedback and suggestions for the Community (“Feedback”). Please contact us if you have any ideas for improvement. If you do submit Feedback, you agree that Klaviyo will be free to act on feedback and suggestions you provide, and that Klaviyo has no obligation to obtain your permission to use your Feedback, notify you if your Feedback was used, or compensate you in any way. You agree not to submit Feedback that you believe might be confidential or proprietary to you or others.
7. Intellectual Property
Klaviyo and its licensors exclusively own and retain all intellectual property and proprietary rights in the Community, the technology and software used to provide the Community, and any content provided through the Community (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images and forum posts). You may not modify, reproduce, distribute, create derivative works of, publicly display, or in any way exploit any of the Community or content provided through the Forum except as expressly authorized by Klaviyo in writing. Except for the specific rights granted you in these Terms, we do not grant you any express or implied rights in the Community or the content available through the Community.
Klaviyo hereby authorizes you to copy materials published by Klaviyo in the Community solely for non-commercial use within your organization in support of Klaviyo products and service. No other use of the information is authorized. In consideration of this authorization, you agree that any copy of these materials which you make shall retain all copyright and other proprietary notices in the same form and manner as on the original.
The trademarks, logos, and service marks ("Marks") displayed within the Community are the property of Klaviyo or other third parties. Users are not permitted to use these Marks without the prior written consent of Klaviyo or the third party that owns the Marks. "Klaviyo" and all Klaviyo product names are trademarks of Klaviyo.
Except as specified above, nothing contained herein shall be construed as conferring by implication, or otherwise any license or right under a patent, trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property right of Klaviyo or any third party.
8. Digital Millennium Copyright Act Notice
It is Klaviyo’s policy to respond to notices alleging that any material uploaded by users of the Community infringes another persons’ copyright. If you believe any material accessible on or from the Community infringes your copyright, you may request removal of those materials (or access thereto) from the Community by providing our copyright agent the information required by the U.S. Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. §512. Our agent for copyright issues relating to the Community is: Klaviyo Legal, Klaviyo, Inc., 125 Summer St., Boston, Massachusetts 02110, Phone: 857-400-7060, Email: dmca@klaviyo.com. For all email submissions, please include the subject line: DMCA Takedown Request.
Klaviyo has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, accounts of users of the Community who are deemed to have submitted content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others.
9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
YOU USE THE COMMUNITY AND ITS CONTENT AT YOUR OWN RISK. ALL INFORMATION PROVIDED ON THE COMMUNITY IS PROVIDED "AS IS," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. KLAVIYO DOES NOT WARRANT OR GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, COMPLETENESS, USEFULNESS, NON-INFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS, OR QUALITY OF ANY MATERIAL IN THE COMMUNITY, REGARDLESS OF THE SOURCE OF THE MATERIAL. KLAVIYO AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE OR RESPONSIBLE IN ANY WAY FOR ANY CONTENT ON THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY ERRORS OR OMISSIONS IN THE MATERIAL, OR FOR ANY LOSSES OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND INCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE USE OF OR RELIANCE ON ANY MATERIAL.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL KLAVIYO BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES. IF, NOTWITHSTANDING THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, KLAVIYO IS FOUND TO HAVE ANY LIABILITY TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY, YOU AGREE THAT OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500).
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Klaviyo harmless from and against any claim by a third party arising from or related to: (a) your use or attempted use of the Community in violation of these Terms, (b) your violation of any law or rights of any third party, or (c) any content you post to the Community, including without limitation any claim of infringement, misappropriation, or violation of any intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
11. Cookies
The Klaviyo Cookie Policy is defined in our Privacy Policy. You do not need to have cookies turned on to view Community postings. However, if you have cookies turned off or do not accept the cookie from the Community, you will not be permitted to sign in to the Community to post content or respond to postings.
12. International Site Use
All Community content is in English. The Community may not be helpful or relevant to all international customers. Not all products or programs mentioned will be available internationally.
13. Links to Third-Party Sites
The Community may contain links to third-party sites. Accessing any other internet sites linked to this website is at your own risk. Klaviyo is not responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any information, data, opinions, advice, or statements made on these sites. Klaviyo provides these links merely as a convenience and the inclusion of such links does not imply an endorsement. Any links posted by you are subject to all these Terms like any other type of content posted to the Community. You may not post a link that directs users to any content or information that would constitute a violation of these Terms.
14. Access to Password Protected/Secure Areas
Access to and use of password protected and/or secure areas of the Community is restricted to authorized users only. Unauthorized individuals attempting to access these areas of the Community may be subject to prosecution.
15. Termination
You may close your account and discontinue your use of the Community at any time. We may close your account or suspend your ability to use all or portions of the Community, without or without cause, and with or without notice to you. We may also modify, update, suspend or discontinue the Community or any portion thereof at any time, without notice or liability. The following Sections survive the termination of these Terms: 1 (General Guidelines), 3 (Your Content), 5 (Feedback), 6 (Intellectual Property), 8 (Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability), 9 (Indemnification) 14 (Termination) and 15 (Miscellaneous).
16. Miscellaneous
These Terms represent the complete agreement concerning the subject matter of the Terms. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the laws of the United States, without giving effect to any principles of conflict of law. You agree that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be filed only in the state or federal courts located in Boston, Massachusetts, and you hereby consent and submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action. The parties specifically disclaim applicability of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the Sale of Goods. If any of the provisions of these Terms shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from these Terms and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
