Hello, I already have over 54,000 fake email subscribers and would like to know how to get rid of them so that no one registers as a fake. And do I have to delete all 53,000 of them individually or what can I do?

Thanks,
Rebekka

Hi @Rebekka,

Oh no - that’s definitely a lot of accounts!

The key steps that need to be taken here:

  1.  Remove all of these fake profiles - if you place all of these accounts into a list you can remove them. Normally I recommend suppression but seeing as these are fake profiles I would actually delete them from your account. This page includes details on how to do this.
  2. Turn on double opt-in on your list - this means customers have to approve their sign-up. This will prevent fake accounts from ending up in your account in the first place. More info about this can be found here.

I hope that helps!

Thanks
David

Hey @Rebekka

Just to add on to what @DavidV said,

If you see a pattern of emails that you know are fake emails, like they are starting with certain letters or numbers of if they all have a particular domain, then you can just create a segment with following definition

and then you can just suppress this segment.

I hope this helps and thank you for being part of this community
