Hi @SJB! Dedicated/shared IP address is not the same thing as a branded sending domain. This is a common point of confusion! Both are factors in your deliverability but have different functions and their own reputation scores.
Mailbox providers look at your overall reputation, including your IP's, when determining where to place an email (inbox, spam, etc). The IP reputation, domain reputation, recipient positive and negative engagements are just a few of the factors that influence your overall deliverability. Sending from a shared IP address means that you will send alongside several other Klaviyo customers, which also means a shared sending reputation. This is different than your domain reputation which is unique to your branded sending domain.
Moving to a dedicated IP address is an option for paid customers that meet a high volume send criteria and are approved on a case-by-case basis. All accounts, free and paid, can (and should) update to a branded sending domain. Here’s some more info on these topics:
