Emails stuck in waiting

CONTEXT

  • I am a new Klayvio user, and I’m setting up my first flow.
  • I created a simple list for New Subscribers.
  • Profiles are added to the list via a Zap, which is triggered from a form submission in my webflow site.
    • The zap:
      • Creates/updates a profile, based on the form submission
      • Adds the new user to the New Subscribers list

ISSUE

  • Whenever a user enters the list, the email is stuck in “Waiting”
  • I have disabled double-opt in for this list
  • Under Recipient Activity for the flow, I can see that the email is in “Waiting”
    • When hovered over, my options are “Preview” or “Cancel Send”
    • The “Scheduled For” date and time are in the past
      • Time is correct; email never sends

I’m sure there’s something basic I’m doing wrong, any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Hey @Nick BX! How often does your Zap run? Delays in data syncing could be the culprit here. If you have an integration that doesn't sync immediately, qualified profiles will still be scheduled for the first step in a flow as long as the information for the triggering event is synced into Klaviyo within four hours of the event occurring.

I would test this by adding a delay that’s ~15m longer than the time it takes for your Zap to run.

Hello @Nick BX  Did you make any changes to this flow? If there was a delay/wait in the flow and someone reached that step then they will be in that delay until the duration set in the wait.

You can read more about it here:

Hey Maxbuzz,

That’s a great point to make, but as shown, our flow has no delays. Just a single trigger, and an email.

I’ll try implementing a flow with a slight delay, and see if that affects anything.

My flow is similar to Nick’s but it’s an SMS. How long will new list members have to sit in the list “WAITING” until they will receive my text? There is no time delay set and I added them successfully through an import after the flow was set up.
