Hello.

We are running a classic ebook Lead ad campaign on Facebook (FB) where users can optin via FB form with their name and email in order to recieve the ebook. The optin info is then passed into a Klaviyo segment.

What we would really like to know is how many of these optins, coming to this Klaviyo segment from FB lead ads, are actually new and how many are existing Klaviyo profiles.

Obviously we would like to primarily target users on FB that we dont already “have” in Klaviyo. We are using a FB custom segment of all Klaviyo subs that we are excluding from the FB lead ad campaign as well.

Appreciate any ideas on how we can check this data.

Best regards.

Hi @double d

I would create a segment with the conditions as shown below. The ‘Filled out lead ad’ event and ‘create date’ ‘is after’ value would be the date your campaign started.

That segment will select contacts who have filled out your FB lead form AND their profile was created after your ad campaign started i.e they’re new contacts from FB.

However, it is possible that the segment will add profiles created via another channel after that date who then fill out your FB lead ad. But if you’re excluding existing profiles from your FB campaign, that should avoid this.

An alternative approach if you’re pushing FB leads to its own list is to create a segment with create date as below but AND this instead with ‘If someone is in or not in a list’ is in your FB lead list]

Does that help?

Andy
