Klaviyo not registering Gmail spam complaints?

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Hello everyone,

I was just going thru our deliverability reports trying to make sure that our metrics are within the requirements that Gmail will start enforcing on February 1st. And it struck me as odd that on our last campaign, which had around 15,000 recipient on Gmail, we did not get a single spam complaint.

In Google Postmaster, however, our spam rate for this campaign was a whopping 0.9% (Roughly 8x our usual spam complaint rate)

I tried looking thru the Klaviyo documentation but could not find any mention of Gmail spam complaints not being registered within Klaviyo. Is this a known issue?

Thank you!

Hi Aleksandar,

Gmail does not share user level spam complaints data with any ESP. That’s why, you aren’t able to see the data in the dashboards.

However, if you’re seeing a spike in the spam complaints in the GPT then it is required for you to look at your segment definition or content relevancy and frequency. Monitor the trend consistently and adjust the sending schedule to more targeted segments.

Hope that answers your question.

Regards,

Mohsin
