Hi community,

I experienced extremely high bounce rate for one of my marketing campaigns with 12% bounce rate coming from Soft Bounce and error 554.5.7.1 CS01 message rejected due to local policy.
This damages my account reputation and I don’t find any plausible explanation to why this happened and how to fix this.

In deliverability report I can see that all errors come from Apple domains and from the Content category.

This is the first time. All previous campaigns were delivered absolutely fine with bounce rate below 2%.

Did anyone else experience this? What would you advice to do next?

Thank you!

An update for all interested in the matter:

I contacted Klaviyo support and received the following

____

The team was able to detect a block by Apple on one of our shared click tracking domains approx 1-2 weeks ago and our team has confirmed that this issue has now been resolved, as they escalated the matter to Apple’s Anti-spam department upper management, and as of 11 September the block was lifted.

Bounces that were incurred due to this would have been categorized as Soft Bounces and content as you've described, so please feel free to resend any emails to Apple/iCloud addresses should you wish/require to, and they will deliver as expected.

____

I hope it helps!

I’d like to chime in that I also just had this happen on one of my campaigns out of the blue.

The only difference is that I added a subscription link for my SMS program to the email as a banner if it was clicked, but not sure why that would be flagged.
