Hi, we’re a bookstore with a large student population. The graduating class will be losing access to their school emails in a couple of weeks, so we’d like to send an email to them asking to update the emails on their profiles to get 10% off. Is there a best way to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @BookStoreA, welcome to the community!

The easiest way is to send them to your “Preferences Page” in Klaviyo so they can update the email address there there.  This way, all the historical purchases, behavior, and data you’ve accumulated for that customer/subscriber will stay intact with the updated email address.

You can use the code snippet: {% manage_preferences_link %} as a link, or in a Button in your email template to take them back to their preference page to be updated.

See this example I made with a Button to take them back to the Email Preferences:

Alternatively, you can always send them to a page with a Klaviyo embedded Signup Form and prompting to Subscribe again with their new email address.  However, Klaviyo will see this as a New Subscriber and won’t merge this with the old email address.

Hope this helps!

Hi @retention

Thank you for the quick reply! I’ll go ahead and get that snippet into an email. Is there a good way to get the 10% off coupon to the people who update their preferences?
