Hi I came to know that I can send email even visitors didn't subscribe the form using Retention software

But it says it works only for US traffic. My client has UK based website https://subsiptv.uk/ which has mostly UK traffic.

How can we utilize the https://retention.com/ for non-US traffic? And is this Klaviyo's product or any third party software?

Hi @Simon781

Thank you for posting your question in the community. Retention.com is a third party tool, unaffiliated with Klaviyo.

Technically, Retention.com is able to recognize anonymous traffic to a website if they’ve visited and signed up elsewhere. If a brand has retention’s code snippet on the website when the anonymous user visits, they essentially share that email address with the brand, even though the user did not specifically opt-in to receive email from your brand.

In the US, the CAN-SPAM laws don’t require that you need EXPLICIT CONSENT to send marketing messages. However, GDPR (which does include the UK) does require explicit consent from users in order to send them marketing messages.

In this case, using Retention.com to capture new UK-based email subscribers would not follow the rules of GDPR law and why Retention.com only works in the US.

I hope this helps. That said, I am not a lawyer and I cannot provide legal counsel, so you should seek additional legal counsel if needed.

Best,
