I do not understand how to set up an SMS flow where the customer responds with yes and so it follows with more information. I found someone else asked a similar question, someone followed up with a confusing answer and when they said they didn’t understand, no one ever responded to them. This was 3 months ago.
I want to send and SMS that says, “hey you want this thing?” and they respond yes or no. If they respond yes, then a new SMS is sent with info.

Hey @W Weitzenhoffer
Yeah I saw that thread as well, however whoever replied to that question, just copied and pasted the response from Chatgpt, without even reading the answer.
But here is what you can do.
Send the SMS either via SMS campaign or add an SMS in the flow like - ““hey you want this thing?” yes or no “ and when they reply, they will trigger a new flow by the metric “Sent SMS”
I hope this helps and thank you for sharing your question here in the community.

as mentioned by @ArpitBanjara you can do this.
How?
You have to create a new flow using trigger:
Trigger: Send SMS
Trigger filter should be body contains YES
OR
Body contains
yES
OR
Body contains
yes
OR
Body contains
Yes

OK, I think I know how to di it now but I do have a question. How do I set it up so I can send the SMS to people who have been on a list prior to making the flow? I found an article about adding past profiles but I’m not seeing this option as I’m creating filters for the flow.
Thank you for your help!
Hey @W Weitzenhoffer
To add past profiles - you need to click on “manage flow” and then click on “Add past profiles”
I second @ArpitBanjara but you can only add past profiles equal to your flow's time delay. For example, if your flow will be completed in 1 day, you can add past profiles from up to 1 day prior before setting your flow live.

I’m so confused by this. I have an existing group. I feel like I should start over explaining what I need to do.
Once a month I want to send a different, new text that they can reply back yes or no, which I have an automated follow up. Different offers basically every month. But that means my trigger of “When added to list” is no good because people will be on the list from maybe 3 months prior. I don’t understand why I need a time delay, and if I do the way I read this is in order to add people who have been on the list for three months there needs to be a three month delay?
@W Weitzenhoffer - The method that @ArpitBanjara and @ali786 method still applies to your scenario. The Flow is triggered when one of the user “Sent SMS” (e.g. they reply to an SMS). You can see all the times someone “Sent SMS” by going to your Analytics → Metrics → Sent SMS. How you get people to send an SMS to you is up to you.
For example, you can send an SMS Campaign to any Segment (group) of people. When they reply to it it, then they trigger the “Sent SMS” Flow. If their reply have the words “Yes” or “No” (in your example) somewhere in the body of their message, then you can lead them down to different paths in your Flow to reply accordingly.
The Flow just waits until someone “Sent SMS” (when the user replies or sends an SMS) and then it goes through your Flow. It doesn’t matter if someone was added to your Segment (group) in the past, because the Trigger only happens when someone “Sent SMS.”

But if the trigger is for when people sign up for a list, how do the old people on the list get the initial message to know whether to reply yes or no? Your response also doesn’t explain the delay thing they said. It’s so convoluted and confusing. The article does not explain this either
I just spent the last hour in live chat with someone from Klaviyo, and basically the answer is the site can’t do what I need it to do.
