I’ve been sending out campaign emails that get on average about a 50% open rate. My average click rate was very low like im talking 8 clicks an email. All the sudden my emails are getting now 200+ clicks and a much higher click rate percentage. I haven’t changed anything in my emails that would improve click rate so im just wondering why this is happening? Is Klaviyo just better at reporting email activity now?

Hey @tthomas1912

The sudden spike in clicks without changes to your emails could be due to bot activity rather than actual user engagement. Many email security systems, especially from corporate or government recipients, have bots that scan links in emails to check for potential threats. This often results in an artificial inflation of click rates as these bots “click” through each link, even though subscribers themselves aren’t actually clicking.

I hope this helps and thank you for sharing your question here in the community.

Thanks for your response. This was very helpful. I made a segment to see which emails in the last 30 days were bot clicks and all of our government emails are bot clicks. That is why I am seeing a large increase in click rate. I ended up going to into settings and going to attribution and checking to exclude bot interactions from clicked email. I feel like this should have been default checked but glad I know now. Thanks!
