Will Klaviyo get proper templates in future?

Hi There,

Will Klaviyo ever get proper templates where you can set default text styles and spacing on all blocks so if added, we get consistent design?

The way this all works currently is a constant headache sorry (yes we’ve setup and use the universal block system).

The main problem is that the rich text editor is one of the worst. Yes, the markup required for emails is also the worst! But even basic emails clip in Google and when we look into it, it’s the cruft added by the rich text editor.

@Ben Have you not set your styles at the email level? This will apply to all blocks unless you override them in the WYSIWYG or individual block editor. You can set spacing, font-size, color, etc. It won’t run across all emails, but once you have your base template you can just duplicate.

Or am I misunderstanding your question?

Yes, the duplicate/reuse model is very useful. But sometimes (for a variety of reasons) it would be useful to set an account-wide set of styles that get applied to any block - just the basics from that screen but account-wide.

We have set some stuff (like the fonts) but we have a lot of trouble with the RTE adding endless empty spans and divs for centering text etc.

We suspect this is coming from the duplicate and reuse way of doing things. Layers of empty spans from each time a campaign was duplicated. Do you guys experience this or is it just us?

We’re using the latest Chrome on MacOS incase it’s the cause.

@Ben Gotcha. I haven’t experienced this as far as I know.

I usually just use the styles set on the email level when I create the template and then pull that in as a starting point for any flow email or duplicate for campaign emails. It’s rare I have any styling inside the individual blocks.
