Hi,

I’m running Klaviyo with a custom website (i.e. not Shopify). We would like to segment customers that used a coupon/checkout code when they placed an order (as opposed to paid full price).

(We’d also be interested to know if this is possible when Shopify is used.)

We would appreciate any ideas that people might have on this. Thank you in advance.😊

Kind regards,
William

Hi @Wmorris2468

Yes, you can create a Klaviyo segment for redeemed static and dynamic coupons. See example below for Shopify but it should be similar on other platforms.

You’re in luck with your timing too. Until quite recently Klaviyo didn’t support segmenting a dynamic, unique code by its prefix eg a ‘MISS-YOU-XXXXX’ which alway caused issues and meant adding a Shopify flow for that purpose. Fortunately, Klaviyo has listened and has now added that feature!

So you’ll need to ensure your dynamic discount codes have a static prefix to segment those.

Hope that helps

Andy

Shopify segment profiles redeemed dynamic code with prefix ‘MISS-YOU-’ OR static code ‘WELCOME10’

Thank you very much Andy ( @bluesnapper )

We use Shopify for a few brands, so this solves that issue. We’ll continue to look into setting it up with the custom backend option.

Thanks again!
Will
