Hi, I am wondering what’s the best practices to deal with duplicated profiles.

I have noticed that some customers have two or more profiles with different emails. I have combined those who obviously have changed the email address - firstly used one, and now the other. But what to do with those that are subscribed to newsletter with one email and when purchasing are using the different one? Should I merge these profiles? Or just do nothing and don’t waste my time?

Depends on how much time you would like to spend on this and the possible improvements you think you'd make with this I guess.

You could export all profiles using first and last names possibly address if that's in there and spread some spreadsheet magic over it to highlight duplicate first + last names or addresses.

Personally unless it's a big portion of your database I'd leave it as is or have the intern do it.
Not sure if you'd gain much from the work, unless of course what I just mentioned.

You probably have more results with adding new flows or sending a segmented newsletter.
