Hi everyone!

I am new to the platform and our company have a list of approximately 30K contacts over years in business. We want to upgrade our plan and want to know if there is a tool to help filter out bad contacts before starting a campaign. We want to ensure deliverability and compliance as best as we could!

I already emailed support and waiting for their response. Although if anyone has experience with we would appreciate your help!

Thank you!

Hi @vividmess

Welcome to the Klaviyo Community! We are so happy to have you here! It’s so awesome to see users coming with such different backgrounds, including entrepreneurs just starting off or long-standing businesses just starting their journeys with us!

This is such an important question to ask as Email Deliverability is a key aspect that affects your sender reputation and probability that your emails are hitting your customers’ inboxes. Yes, we would suggest List Cleaning before you send any emails and to employ periodically as well. This practice that helps identify which profiles haven’t interacted with your emails lately and prevents them from hearing from you further, allowing you to create more personalized content toward users you know really want to hear from you! The Help Center article above will walk you through how to Create an Unengaged Segment and suppress these profiles so they won’t impact deliverability and receive emails from you. As Klaviyo only bills for the number of active emailable profiles you have and how frequently you’re sending to them, this could allow you to downgrade your plan depending on your List Cleaning.

Especially if you are new to Klaviyo and have 30k contacts, you are going to need to be very careful when sending, as sending a mass email to 30k people will put email providers on high alert. When just starting out with Klaviyo, we suggest  Warming Your Sending Infrastructure  and only sending your first campaigns to an Engaged Segment of your customers until you account is fully warmed.

Additionally, I would recommend investigating this Help Center Article, Deliverability Best Practices, to ensure you’re checking off every box to ensure good deliverability!

Thanks for being a part of the Community!

Best,

Taylor
