Hi i am an email designer for a brand apparel i would like to know if it is possible to 1. suggest a different segmentation for their brand without accessing on their metrics data? 2. If yes what data that i should request to them?

It's quite challenging to suggest a new segmentation strategy without any metrics data, as such data offers valuable insights into customer behavior and preferences. However, you can still make educated guesses based on some general criteria:

  • Demographics: Age, gender, income level, occupation, education.

  • Geographics: Location, climate, urban/rural.

  • Psychographics: Lifestyle, personality, values, interests.

  • Behavioral: Purchase history, brand loyalty, buying patterns, social media engagement.

Data to Request: To create a more precise and effective segmentation, you should request the following data:

  • Customer Profiles: Basic demographic information like age, gender, location.

  • Purchase History: Details about past purchases, frequency of purchases, average order value.

  • Engagement Data: Interaction with emails (open rates, click-through rates), website behavior (pages visited, time spent on site).

  • Customer Feedback: Reviews, survey responses, customer service interactions.

  • Social Media Data: Likes, shares, comments, follower demographics.

Thanks for the info pranay may i ask what is the next step after gathering the data from the client? I mean how do you analyze data to come up with segments

You can ask them to have these segments :

➤Engaged x days
➤Unengaged x days
➤Didn’t receive email in last x days AND can receive email marketing (my fav)

➤Expected next purchase in next x days

➤Near VIPs

Copy will do. Thank you so much for the help.
