Sending email to after single opt-in newsletter subscription?
Hi there,
I set single opt-in for my newsletter pop-up because I find it easier for my audience to sign up.
However, many people would like to receive an email, simply because they forget the coupon code I gve them. I want to send this code to them by emal too.
Is there a way to activate a confirmation email that is automativally sent (that includes the coupon code they get for the sign up)?
Just like in the double opt-in option without the necessty to actually confirm their subscription,
Thanks!

Hey @Sol Deli
You dont need to send a confirmation email, its totally okay to set your list to single-opt in - we do it all the time.
You can include coupon code as you mention, but that has to be done from the ecommerce store you are using. For example if you are on shopify, you need to go to the notification that is sent for email confirmation and then edit it to add your coupon code
scroll down towards the end and click on the arrow
then you can edit the code to add your discount code,
However, its not recommended to do it this way,
because, 1. there are high chances of discount code being shared on the internet, and 2. your customers might use the discount code and still not confirm their subscription, so you loose the opportunity to market them more.
So I feel, you should keep single-opt-in and send a dynamic discount code, created in klaviyo so it cant be shared around as it is unique to that customer.
let me know if you have any questions.
thanks

Hello Arpit,
Thanks for your quick response!
I am not sure I understand your instructions.
My question was whether I can send an email to my subsciber with their sign up coupon code even if it is set as a single opt-in.
Right now I have a pop-up on my page urging peope to sign up for a 10% discount. They can fill their name and email address and press the Subscibe button. When they do, they get a sign-up coupon code on the next screen - and that is it.
However, customers tend to forget this code, they don’t write it down, etc. They expect to receive that in an email too for later use. So besides they see their code on screen, I want to send them an email too that includes their code.
The same way they receive an email in case of the double opt-in, but without the confirmation process.
So looks like I cannot do that in Klaviyo?
Thank you!
Hey @Sol Deli
Oh Yes, ofcourse you can send the coupon code in email, and that is actually what is recommended to do. So you should turn your list to be single-opt-in and then the flow will be triggered by this newsletter list and the first email in the flow will deliver the coupon code immediately.
and as I said before, you should have a dynamic discount code instead of the static that you are sharing with your customers. you can create this dynamic discount code as mentioned here. with static discount there are chances that your discount code being shared on the internet.

My list does have the single opt-in, it does work fine but only on screen, I couldn’t find how to get the email out (“Welcome, here’s your coupon code”).
(When I tried the double opt-in, it was obvious, they confirmed their subscription and then got the code in email.)
I just read the help page you sent to me but I don’t see how my code will be sent out as an automated email after they sign up for the newsletter. All I see is how I can create the code (that is already done). Simply: I’d like to send the content of the “Success” age in an email...
P.S: Right now I don’t mind using a static code (I may reconsider it later).
P.P.S: I use a “Sign up form” for this (obviously), that is not a proper Flow, maybe that is the issue (?)
Thanks,
Attila
Hey @Sol Deli
oh you need to create a flow and that list will be the trigger for that flow, so whenever someone subscribes to your list through your popup form, they will go into this list, and since this list is triggering the flow, they will start receiving emails that you have in this flow. the first email will be the one where you will be delivering your discount code.
