Client Profile API not updating

@alexrbs We had an issue that sounds similar on an integration for a client.Our server sending the identify api calls had been blacklisted by the automatic monitoring for too many requests (despite having rate limiting on our side). Support had to whitelist our server IP (per Klaviyo instance)The symptom was the same - 202 response but no update actually happened; and if I recall, some were getting through sporadically so I think this is the first thing to investigate.Unfortunately there is little you can do without support fixing the issue if this is the problem

Klaviyo for marketplaces advice?

Hi JonCompletely understand your use-case here, I’m not affiliated with Klaviyo though I am a custom software developer and we’ve just about completed an integration for one of our clients so I’m fairly familiar with the platform offerings.Klavyio has two main entities, contacts and metrics/events. The main communication tool is a flow which is essentially summed up as: respond to an event, do a sequence of things, checking conditions along the way (and sometimes varying the email that is sent)To restate the goal, in your scenario, you’ve got an event (a transaction/order, or perhaps a dispatch notification) and you want to be able to email two different parties (the buyer and the seller) differently - e.g. you might want to notify the seller that the order has been processed, and notify the buyer that the order has been accepted, simultaneously.Out of the box, as I understand it, Klaviyo cannot do this specifically.A flow is typically either a transactional flow (support must edit thi

Controlling $consent via API

Thanks for the reply @stephen.trumble Like, @Aaron mentioned in the last comment, I’ve got a similar issue as mentioned in my initial post. As I could not find a way to remove the consent once it was added, I have currently used the exclusions API so that when the consent/opt-in tickbox is unticked on my side/in my other system, this is sent as an exclusion to Klaviyo, but could not find an API to remove that exclusion again. So, my solution for that (which is not a good user experience) was that I had to disable the checkbox on my side if it had been previously checked but then unchecked and show the Klaviyo exclusion reason in a label/badge, forcing the user of my application to manually go to Klaviyo to remove it if required. And additionally do an overnight sync of the exclusions to ensure we avoid race conditions as best as we can (there appeared to be no way to get a webhook sent for changes in consent state, or exclusion state - outside of a flow)To give context as to why we nee

Time estimate for custom integration

@SK Luke not similar at all I’m afraidWe’ve got a line of business application (account management + order processing + subscription management) and we are synchronising all our contacts from our system into Klaviyo & we also migrated the on demand transactional emails generated by the system to use Klaviyo for sending.

Time estimate for custom integration

@SK Luke I’ve just done an integration sending a lot of custom fields from a custom business system to Klaviyo. We’ve not yet done integrated tracking events around clicks becoming metrics.60 hours seems like a lot to me for 5-6 touch points, but I don’t know anything about your site architecture or the specifics around why this is so high.For us, we spent a lot of time getting the data (which is all disparate across our existing system) centralised, then hooking the events up to sync in the right spots. We also did transactional email conversion (moving all our existing transactions to use Klaviyo)This took nearly 140 hours for the project, but it sounds like it’s vastly bigger than what you’re looking to do.

@dartacus at the very least, I’m glad I alerted you to a problem :)I was reading your original comments and thinking I must have missed something as you said it was working for you - but since your unit tests are now failing I guess the API has changed.I have created an issue of my own if you’d like to add a +1 therehttps://community.klaviyo.com/topic/show?tid=5706&fid=64In short, to summarize on this ticket, I am trying synchronise _general_ consent (as I think you are as well) not to a specific list

What's the current method for removing email consent via PI?

@dartacus is that still working for you? I’m calling /identify with $consent: false (not as a string) but also tried [] and “” and null and my test profile is still showing consent for email. Like your original issue, the timestamp does update in the UI so I know the API call was accepted.
