I have read a lot of Community threads on this subject - and non with a viable solution. Yes we have activated the ‘Don’t show to existing profiles’, but are still getting a lot of complaints from people who forgot they signed up. Another faulty solution is sending the message in an email based on multiple lists etc. Making the customers leave our website to go wait in the inbox for a ‘Sorry, you will not get a discount’ mail is a conversion killer. The message should be instant and not make the customer leave the page.

So Klaviyo when will you implement a sign-up flow step for a “You have already subscribed” message. I get this message, when I subscribe to other sites similar to the “Success” step.

It seems simple, but would remove a huge pain for our Customer Service as they time and again have to check when a customer writes “I have subscribed to you newsletter, but not received a code. I would like the discount...”

Best regards,

Hello @tanlinhan

This is a known limitation of Klaviyo forms. Existing customers are tracked via browser cookies, but if someone clears their cookies and revisits the site, Klaviyo will treat them as a new visitor and show the popup form again.

One solution is to update the form copy to say, "New Subscribers Get a 10% Coupon," clarifying the offer. Alternatively, you could implement a custom form that checks whether the provided email already exists in your Klaviyo database and then displays the appropriate qualification criteria based on their status.
