Hello,

I am currently working on creating a custom consent page. As I own a dog supplement brand, I am saving the name of the dog in my Klaviyo profiles as well.

In my custom consent page I want to give my subscribers the possibility to see and change the name of their dog. It’s no problem to show the dog’s name in the consent page, but to save it. Everytime I change the name of the dog, it won’t change in the profile - even though there is no error message.

Here is the code:

The custom property is called:

Hund_Name

The custom property already exists for a few hundred profiles.

That’s the problematic part of the code:

<div class="form-group">
<label for="DogsName" class="col-sm-3 control-label">Name deines Hundes</label>
<div class="col-sm-9">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="DogsName" name="Hund_Name" value="{{ person|lookup:'Hund_Name'|default:'' }}" />
</div>
</div>

Do you have any idea, why the dog’s name is not saved to “Hund_Name”?

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Philipp

Hi there @Philipp ,

Thanks for sharing.

Can you share an example of a profile that has this property saved but not under “Hund_name”? I am just looking for clarification for what is going on vs expected behavior since you did say that there are a few hundred profiles with the names properly saved as a custom property.

Thanks,

Alex

Hello Alex,

thanks for the reply. This profile for example has the property Hund_Name.

Kind regards,

Philipp

Hey there,

We can’t access your profile and account info so if you could share a screenshot with all the info I asked for in the first response, that would be great.

Thank you,

Alex

Hi Alex,

sorry I misunderstood. Here is an image:

Does that help?

Thanks

@Philipp So i see the property is there. What is the expected name then under Hund_Name property.

The property contains the name of the customer's dog. Through the preference page I want to give the customer the possibility to change or add the name of their dog.

But If I change the name and save the form, the property is not updated.

My question is, why the update ist not working and what's wrong with my code.

Does that make sense?

Thanks

Hi @Philipp ,

I would make sure you change the name and value of the element for EmailInterests, and then add "Hund_name" to your "$fields" values, as per this guide: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005080127-Add-Custom-Fields-to-a-Legacy-Form#add-fields-to-an-embedded-signup-form1

Specifically, this section shows how to work with checkboxes: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005080127-Add-Custom-Fields-to-a-Legacy-Form#add-checkboxes-to-an-embedded-signup-form5

Hi @alex.hong,

thank you! That worked.

I didn’t know, that I have to add the input field’s name to a hidden input.

Thank you!
