Double Opt In and Explicit Consent

Hi everyone! 

I am part of an ecommerce company that markets in the U.S. I wanted to see everyone’s opinion on obtaining explicit consent and enabling double opt-in. At our Shopify checkout page, we have a checkbox that asks individuals if they want to opt in to marketing. This checkbox is pre-checked. We see roughly 65% of subscribers come from the checkout page. But, we are ensuring we are following legal requirements, if any here. We also have several clients that have moved to double opt in for various reasons.

 

I am curious to hear what others experience and viewpoints with double opt in and explicit consent are. I would also be curious to hear the engagement metrics & revenue impact this has had, if any!
