Hi Klaviyo Community,

I recently set up a multi-step form to collect both email addresses and SMS subscribers. Here’s what I’m trying to achieve:

  • In Step 1, we ask for an email address and offer a small discount for subscribing via email.
  • In Step 2, we collect SMS subscribers by offering a larger discount.

My question is: Is there a way to show the SMS signup form step if a customer decides to close the email step form?

The idea is to allow customers who don’t want to provide their email to still subscribe via SMS and take advantage of the bigger discount. Any tips or guidance on how to achieve this within Klaviyo's form builder would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help! 😊

Hey there,

That’s a great question! It’s awesome that you’re using multi-step forms—super useful for collecting both email and SMS without overwhelming people.

Klaviyo doesn’t have a built-in option to show the SMS signup form if someone closes the email form, but there are a few workarounds that can help:

  1. Exit-Intent Popups for SMS: You can set up an exit-intent popup that shows the SMS offer when someone closes the email form. This way, they still have the option to grab that bigger discount for signing up via SMS. It’s a great way to get both email and SMS consent without slowing down the signup process .

  2. Separate Multi-Step Forms: Another option is to create separate multi-step forms for email and SMS. If someone skips the email, you could trigger the SMS form to appear. Klaviyo lets you target based on actions, so you can easily set this up .

  3. Custom JavaScript: If you’re okay with a bit of coding, you could add some JavaScript to detect when the email form is closed and automatically show the SMS step. Not something Klaviyo does out of the box, but it’s definitely possible with some tweaks .

Hope this helps!

Cheers!
