Hi, our team was using Amped popups on top of Klaviyo for lead capturing, but now that they are bought by Mailchimp, we’ll no longer be able to use Amped.

I know Klaviyo has pretty good popup and capturing features, but we loved how Amped allowed for such broad flexibility and customization of the popup experience.

We were getting around 11% email optin rates and 5% SMS optin rates with their popups.

Wondering if anyone else has found a similar app, or just who else in general is seeing email and SMS capture rates that high -- and what you’re using to do that.

Hey there! It's definitely a bummer when a tool you rely on gets phased out or bought by a different platform. But you're right—Klaviyo has some solid popup and lead capture features that can help you maintain, or even improve, those opt-in rates you were seeing with Amped.

To start, Klaviyo's built-in forms offer quite a bit of customization. While it might not have the same extensive flexibility as Amped, there are ways to optimize Klaviyo popups to keep your rates high. Here are a few things you can focus on:

  1. Segmentation and Targeting: Klaviyo lets you get really specific about who sees your popups. You can create different forms based on customer behavior, such as how long they've been on your site or what pages they’ve viewed. This is great for showing highly relevant messages and increasing opt-in rates.

  2. A/B Testing: Test different designs, copy, or timing to see what resonates best with your audience. Since you’ve had success with Amped, try to replicate the elements that worked well in Klaviyo’s forms.

  3. Mobile-Friendly Designs: With 5% SMS opt-ins, it's clear you're already tapping into mobile. Klaviyo’s forms can be optimized for mobile devices, ensuring a seamless experience for users on the go. Make sure your forms are quick to load and easy to engage with on smaller screens.

  4. Third-Party Integration: If you’re looking for a bit more flexibility or a specific type of design, consider integrating a third-party popup tool with Klaviyo. Options like Privy or Justuno offer advanced customization and are built with high conversion rates in mind. These can work alongside Klaviyo to help maintain those opt-in numbers.

  5. Form Triggers: Amped may have given you flexibility with triggers, but you can still replicate that experience in Klaviyo by adjusting when and where your forms appear. For example, try using exit-intent popups, scroll-based triggers, or timing based on engagement to capture more leads.

As for the opt-in rates—11% email and 5% SMS are impressive, but not unheard of. The key to maintaining those rates will be optimizing your messaging and targeting as much as possible. Keep an eye on which forms, offers, or incentives perform best and continue to tweak based on that data.

It may take a little adjustment, but with some tweaking, you should be able to match or even surpass those numbers with Klaviyo and/or a flexible third-party popup solution!
