We want to use a short link in an SMS to send users to an online survey form. In this form we want to collect the users email address along with other data but we want to pass the data collected back to the Klaviyo profile.

Is it possible to pass Klaviyo profile data - like phone number - as a URL parameter in the short link sent in the SMS to be able to pass the collected data back to the Klaviyo profile?

Hi @Blue_Aspen_Mike_D

Thanks for being a part of our community! Is the survey through a third party? You would be able to send that data back to Klaviyo via API to add to profiles as a profile property (reference doc).

Something to note: it would not be recommended to put PII in a URL (even if it's a URL that gets expanded from a short link). Can you clarify your goal:

  • You want to know the browser the profile lands on by clicking the link to be cookied with the profile, so any new properties in the form get associated with the right profile?
