Hi Community! I’ve recently taken on a few new clients and have been focused on growing their lists with limited starting resources, so I just wanted to share some of my tried and true tactics to help boost that growth spurt! Let’s dive in. Opt-in Opportunities First and foremost, I always tell customers to start at the bottom of the sales funnel and work their way up. This holds true for ads, websites, and even email. For email, I would encourage new clients to make sure they are giving customers every opportunity to opt in. This includes opt-ins during checkout, back-in-stock notifications, and SMS. In my experience, I personally think collecting SMS opt-in right away is a good thing, even if you're not planning on using SMS in the immediate future. SMS requires some more legal hoops to jump through so it takes a little longer to collect those opt-ins, which means if you want to see growth, you’ve got to get started now! Keep Them Hooked Besides Opt-in opportunities, you should uti
Segmentation is one of the most powerful tools in Klaviyo! Segments update automatically and immediately.Once you create a segment, it will pull in customers that meet the definitions you set from anywhere in your Klaviyo account – this is why it’s important to confine a segment to a specific list if you’re using it for campaign targeting. Otherwise, you risk sending to people who have not opted in to receive your marketing messages! There are two exceptions to be aware of when discussing how often segments update: Segments that rely on relative time conditions, which are only true after a certain period of time (i.e. purchased from an email at least 5 days ago) - these types of segments update every 24 hours instead of real-time. Segments that rely on all “negative” conditions (i.e. everyone that is not in several specified lists) - these types of segments may update with a slight delay. If you’re new to segmentation and want to learn more, check out our guide!
What Is a Welcome Series Flow and Why Use One?A welcome series is a sequence of emails sent directly after someone signs up to hear from your brand. This is a critical moment in the customer lifecycle because it's your opportunity to introduce new, interested prospects to your business and product offering. With a welcome series, you should strike while the iron is hot and capitalize on this display of interest.A welcome series is crucial email automation, and Klaviyo provides a pre-built welcome series out-of-the-box. You will find a standard welcome series listed in the Flows tab of your account. If you want a more advanced welcome flow, you can browse different ideas in our Flow Library. How Does a Welcome Series Flow Work?Unlike many other recommended flows, a welcome series is a list-triggered flow. Whichever list you choose should be the list that new subscribers are added to when they sign up. There are four key ways that new contacts can be added to a list to trigger a welcome s

When editing your forms in Klaviyo, you’ll find several customization options for display and targeting located within the Behaviors tab:Display Timing: Setting a loading or scrolling delay creates a better experience for your visitors that’s both less intrusive and disruptive. Exit intent forms in particular have been shown to perform really well for this reason, and combining this behavior with a delay will ensure that your messaging reaches those visitors who have spent a decent amount of time on your site just before they go to leave. Display Frequency: It’s a good idea to hide forms from visitors who have already provided the information requested, but in the case where someone closed a form without submitting it, you can set the form to show again for that person after a certain number of days, when they may be more willing to subscribe.Devices: This is where you will choose which devices your form will appear on. Very often you’ll find you need to create a mobile-only version of
