Importing lists as custom profile properties via API PUT request

Thank you. I have double-checked formatting and when I tested I chose ‘List’ in the dropdown. I will try an Identify call instead of /person.

API: passing profiles to the https://a.klaviyo.com/api/v2/list/{list_id}/members endpoint

FIXED! Make sure you set CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER to array('Content-Type:application/json’), and submit the body as url encoded json as the only contents of CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS.

Is a custom integration needed?

If you do have to do some custom work with the API, it is very intuitive and easy to work with. Custom properties don’t have to be set up first, you can just include them in JSON with an /identfy call to the API and they’re auto-created. Should be fairly straightforward in a Wordpress plugin etc.

What's the current method for removing email consent via PI?

Thanks. This is a custom integration for a custom ecommerce site, we don’t use Shopify etc. I’m communicating with Klaviyo via curl requests to their API.

What's the current method for removing email consent via PI?

Spoke too soon - results are not repeatable in my unit tests, following a resubscribe test, $consent for the test profile now shows as an array with ‘email’, but actual consent remains as the red X showing as not contactable.Is this a rate limit problem?

Thanks Stephen.I referred to https://developers.klaviyo.com/en/reference/exclude-globally when trying to do the update using my already-developed /track and /identify methods did not work - however I will retest these now setting $consent to false.For reference, this is a PHP site, I’m using the curl library to send requests.

Once again, thanks Stephen. $consent: false is working and my unit tests pass (I would have sworn blind it wasn’t working yesterday, though).Now I just have to work out the API method to restore consent back to [‘email’] when customers change their account preference back to wanting to receive our emails….

Fire custom webhook when user unsubscribes?

This is a solution but requires a regular cron job and a fair amount of processing on our own servers to iterate through the returned data, executing an unsubscribe action on each result.Please could I raise a feature request for a more traditional webhook solution that just calls a URL when someone either a) unsubscribes or b) subscribes? That way I will know that my own systems are *always* in sync with Klaviyo.It’s important because people who are subscribed to our mailing list get a reduced shipping rate and some other benefits when they purchase. If they’ve subbed via klaviyo and then order before a sync has occurred, we’ll end up billing them wrongly.

@agrath no, doesn’t work any more, unit tests all fail now. Had to check the results manually, too, because an API call to get the ‘consent’ status just returns an empty array whether my test profile was subscribed or not.Is there a mod watching who can escalate this? I had thought that this issue was solved, now I come back and find it isn’t and my customer lists are probably very out of sync with Klaviyo, which has serious customer satisfaction implications for me as our delivery charges are different depending on whether someone is a subscriber or not. I *have* to have a good sync between my database and Klaviyo.

Controlling $consent via API

Can confirm that having thought that this issue was solved I have gone back and run my unit tests: they are now failing, so consent is no longer being set via the method recommended in one of the linked posts.This is very important to my integration too and would appreciate a mod escalating this to support.

This is fantastic news, thank you! G Hey Gareth,   You can use the new v3 API endpoints to add and remove the green tick from profiles (instead of using the old v2 API endpoints).   Simply create a list (you can call it ‘all subscribers’) and set it to single opt-in in the settings. Then POST to the v3 API endpoint Subscribe Profiles to add email profiles to the list (and have a green tick for consent on the profile). Sample Payload: { "data": { "type": "profile-subscription-bulk-create-job", "attributes": { "list_id": "listID", "subscriptions": [ { "email": "test@gmail.com" } ] } }} If they unsubscribe, then POST to the v3 API endpoint Unsubscribe Profiles to remove email profiles from the list (and have a cross for consent on the profile). Thanks both for your responses. Digging around in the help docs a bit more I found the following:Note that each time someone fills out a form, their $consent_form_id property is replaced with the ID of the form they filled out most recently, so profiles will only appear in this segment if they have not filled out any other forms since completing the one in question. To avoid this, add a hidden field to your form before setting it live, then use the hidden field property as your segment definition.…so the way to handle this is to set a hidden field which sets a property on submit, then base a segment on that property. Job done.

The product images are not getting shown...

Sorry to revivify a closed issue, but is there any way of doing this automatically?Our new products 90 days feed is badly broken with the majority of images being missing - this is probably due to changes to image URLs etc. This is quite natural - new products will have basic image URLs which are then changed via cron into SEO friendly image URLs, sometimes we manually correct product photos ourselves if we feel they could be better. There are many valid reasons why an image URL might change.However I didn’t think this would be a problem because we do a daily import of all current products into Klaviyo via a custom catalogue source, that pulls in a file which is regenerated daily. So everything should always be up to date.Is there any way to *automatically* force a product in klaviyo to update it’s image link? It seems counter-intuitive that Klaviyo would hold onto a broken link despite being told on a daily basis that it has changed.
