Ever since Klaviyo AI started gaining momentum earlier this year, we’ve seen the amazing heights this technology can help us reach in terms of making everyday life easy.

Here are a few of the things we’ve learned in the past 8 months related to 3 major aspects of Klaviyo AI: insights & reporting, content creation, and optimization.

 

Tip 1: Use review sentiment AI to better understand your customers

When enabled, Klaviyo’s review sentiment AI allows you to generate insights from your reviews by topic (e.g., what customers like or dislike about your customer service, delivery and shipping), or over time. The “over time” tab shows you how sentiment, whether positive or negative, developed over time. The default time frame is 30 days, but it can be longer.

 

Use these insights to quickly understand how your customers are feeling about your products, address pain points in your marketing, amplify your content creation, and humanize your copy.

 

Tip 2: Create the perfect cross-sell email using personalized product feeds

Klaviyo lets you generate product feeds with products AI  thinks your specific customers might like based on how they’re related to similar buyers and their purchasing history.

 

Once you’ve set up the feed, use it in your cross-sell emails to create an optimal, highly personalized experience for each customer. 

 

Tip 3: Instantly find out how you stack up against competitors with industry benchmarks

When you use Klaviyo, you’re in the company of thousands of business owners like yourself—many of whom share a lot of the same challenges and are working on implementing a lot of the same strategies.

 

With Klaviyo’s industry benchmarks, you can see how you stack up against your peers and competitors, and identify where you need to take action to improve and earn more market share.

Industry benchmarks can be a powerful tool for:

  • Content optimization: For example, if your click rate is lower than your competitors’, you may need to scrutinize your content.
  • Deliverability: Your spam complaint rate is that much higher than theirs? Something must be wrong!
  • …and more

 

Tip 4: Create complex flows in seconds 

I can just imagine how many times you’ve come to a brainstorming session and started saying something like “what if we made a flow that gets sent out to everyone who purchased Product A but only when it was on sale during Q4 last year, and tries to re-engage them to buy again.”

 

Now, thanks to Flows AI, there’s an option to just input what you want, and watch it get built in a flash. 

 

Tip 5: Easily reach the right audience with Segments AI 

Gone are the days when you had to explain something to a person, then that person had to go and convert your jumbled notes into a Klaviyo segment definition, and then the definition needed to be tweaked until you got exactly what you wanted.

 

Cut out the middleman and dive straight into segment creation by simply typing out what you want and asking Segments AI to handle it for you. 

 

Sure, sometimes you’ll need to tweak a thing or two. But being able to say “I want to send an email to all of my purchasers” and have a segment created instantly is highly addictive.

 

Tip 6: Use Klaviyo AI as your personal customer service assistant

If you have Klaviyo SMS enabled, chances are you’re using conversations to help your customers navigate through the shopping process or to respond to any questions they might have about your products or business.

 

SMS AI’s suggested responses feature saves you tons of time by simply suggesting what to write next based on what the person is asking. This way, you’ll be able to handle multiple conversations at once and cut back on those pesky extra customer service hours during peak times.

 

Tip 7: A/B test like the pros

Direct your audience to the best-performing content with AI-powered A/B testing. Klaviyo makes it easy to optimize your email and SMS campaigns, fine-tune your flow messages, boost engagement with sign-up forms, and even find the right subject lines. 

 

And, you can use AI to take A/B testing to the next level. If you select “personalized variations for each recipient,” AI automatically detects which variation is best for which individual recipient – and sends each person that winning version. 

 

Tip 8: Never again test for the right send time

Klaviyo does this for you now!  AI gathers insights from your recent email sends and determines when you get the most opens, most clicks, and the most conversions. 

 

Once you’ve selected Smart Send Time, all of these insights come to life, and determine when your email will have the most impact.

 

Tip 9: New account? No sweat—Klaviyo will get you up and running

Thanks to Klaviyo’s guided warming feature, it’s easy to warm your sending infrastructure. During guided warming, Klaviyo AI will monitor your campaign sending and automatically exclude unengaged recipients. This helps you ramp up sending and maintain a solid reputation with inbox providers. 

 

Wrapping things up

As you’ve seen from some of the tips and tricks we regularly use, it’s quite clear that the next stage of email marketing has already started. We are now able to do things at an order of magnitude higher than before, all joined together by two main guiding principles: user ergonomics and scale.
