Will Klaviyo allow trigger splits for event properties that are also profile properties?

Are you suggesting to set the event properties as profile properties so that I can use them in a conditional split? Yes, this would work. But this is a hack! The purpose of this post is not to find a workaround solution; we’ve been working around this issue for years. The purpose of this post is to ask if this issue is going to be fixed, and to get support from the community to ask Klaviyo to fix this issue!

It was definitely added to a profile via API calls that me/my organization made during testing. I believe if I delete it from every profile, I could use it in the trigger split. But that doesn’t work for event properties that you want to use as profile properties too.

Hi @bluesnapper,Just to be clear, this is a known issue that Klaviyo support has confirmed to me in the past.I have an event (“Finalize Quoteset”) with the property “isPortalUser.” See screenshot.This property was erroneously added to a profile and I can no longer use it in a Trigger Split in a flow. Here is a screenshot showing the trigger split, and showing that it cannot find the property. However, I can use this property in a conditional split. I hope that makes the problem clear. Hi @Lionrip,I think the issue is with the style of quotes you’re using. Can you try this code?{% if person.title == "female" %}Sehr geehrte Frau {{ person.last_name }},{% elif person.title == "male" %}Sehr geehrter Herr {{ person.last_name }},{% else %}Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,{% endif %} Also, you don’t need to use the lookup “filter” for an operation like this. It doesn’t hurt, but you can use person.title or person.last_name directly for profile properties. I find it a little easier to read and write conditionals like this.Cheers,Kevin.

Remove profiles from the list

I am also looking for a solution to this.I can remove profiles from lists using just the email address of the profile with the `profile-subscription-bulk-delete-job` endpoint.However, as the endpoint implies, this also removes their email subscription status (it unsubscribes them from email!).There must be a simple way to add/remove profiles to lists using just an email… Please let us know!

Template Glitch

Hi @cornsalad, great user name.From my experience with Klaviyo, there are minor glitches like this that occur.Typically just refreshing the page will fix it.Klaviyo will typically log you out after 24 hours (for me, at least), and sometimes you just need to refresh and log back in. What we need to find is not how to create an event, but how to get more data out of Calendly...I’m really expecting a menu that shows you calendly event details and you can map them to Klaviyo properties. Can you find this anywhere?

Hi @Walter Make looks like a cool platform! I’m not familiar! It looks like a more robust Zapier.What options do you have for the Calendly event? When you click on the big Calendly icon, what comes up? (Or possibly the connection between the Calendly icon and the Klaviyo Recherche du Lead).I feel like there should be a way to select “meeting registration details” and send those to the Klaviyo event.How did you configure sending the first name/last name/email from Calendly to Klaviyo? I am anticipating a screen that lets you choose other event details from Calendly to include in the Klaviyo event, or possibly a place to add your own. Merci, mon ami!Kevin.

Very interesting, Walter!I am not sure if I’ll be able to help you more than this because this appears to be a no-code integration.Do you have a contact at Make that can help you with their Calendly integration? You’ll need to get Make to include Calendly appointment data in the event it’s sending to Klaviyo. This isn’t difficult, but it’d most likely require a plugin update.Best,Kevin.

Hi @Walter,Do you have any more information here? Are you sending an email confirmation from Klaviyo today? How’re you sending that email (event, flow, etc.)? What platform are you using? Are you familiar with custom code for Klaviyo, or are you looking for a plugin-style solution? Hi @owen_fnatic,I remembered Klaviyo doing something similar with the older versions of the API–you wouldn’t be able to re-subscribe someone unless you updated their profile for a list (or something like that).However, I just tried the two endpoints you’re using and they worked for my use case. Replacement for v1/v2 {list_or_segment_id}/members/all in new API

Hi @chatarmin,We have a similar use case (fetching all profiles in a segment), and we concluded that the `/segments/{segmentId}/profiles` and fetching 100 at a time was the best solution.We run ours in a recursive loop and it takes about 10 seconds for every 2,000 records. I would expect 30,000 records to take about 2.5-3 minutes. I don’t have a solution for you, but I wanted to share my experience. Best,Kevin.

Setting up dedicated sending domain with Wix

Hi @lumberjillapparel,I love the username!In DNS world, the `@` is entered into the “hostname” field and refers to your root domain. For some DNS systems, you specify this root with an @, others with your main domain name, and others by leaving it empty.I believe that Wix expects an empty hostname field–that is the equivalent of the `@`.Try this out and let us know! Haha, no worries, I think this is the proper way to frame the question:Is it possible to include woocommerce product metadata in the top-level fields of the “Placed Order” event? Or does this data only go into the Metadata field?By default, the data goes into the “Metadata” field. Best of luck!

Bulk subscribe profiles error: "An invalid field type was passed in."

Hi @Laurent,A few things to clarify:Properties (“Sexe”) and values (“Male”, “Female”, blank) are case sensitive so make sure you know the exact case. Are you trying to do this as “Display logic” in an email template, or as text? Hi @rod lee,You can consider 202 to be a valid response, meaning your request was valid and Klaviyo is processing it.Typically a `202` response means the server has received the request, validated it, and is now processing it but the processing isn’t finished yet. A `200` would typically imply that the request was received, valid, and processed.If you’re seeing 202, you should be seeing your changes reflected in Klaviyo’s UI. Can you check? Cheers,Kevin. Hi @drewdeveloper,2 things to check here:Make sure the relationships argument is at the same hierarchical level as attributes. Based on the code you pasted, it looks like `relationships` is top-level (same hierarchical status as `data`). It should be nested within data so it’s `data.attributes` and `data.relationships`. If you created a new list, make sure your list has single opt-in enabled. You could be adding people to your list, but they’re not showing up because you have double opt-in (more: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005251108)Best,Kevin.

How to remove target date delay in birthday flow?

Hi @David_Tai,The flow will always have a node for the person’s birthday but if you put an action above that–right below your trigger–the action will fire off at the trigger date.The “Wait until person’s birthday” is essentially a built-in time delay.Trigger - 2 weeks before birthday Send email (fires off immediately on the trigger, 2 weeks before birthday) “Wait until the birthday” (built-in) end of flowThis would be the way to setup a “2 weeks before birthday” flow.To help the understanding, imagine a more complex birthday flow.Trigger - 2 weeks before birthday Email - “Your birthday is in 2 weeks!” Time delay - 1 week Email - “Your birthday is in 1 week” “Wait until the birthday” (built-in) Time delay - 1 day Email - “Your birthday was yesterday” end of flowDoes that make sense? If you add an email/SMS between the two nodes in your screenshot, your flow will be what you’re looking for. Best,Kevin.

Hi @David_Tai,I don’t understand what the problem is–can you explain more and share a screenshot of your flow? When creating a countdown flow, you pick a starting date that is X weeks from the date. In your case, you should pick 2 weeks from the user’s birthday.If you add actions to the start of that flow, they will fire off 2 weeks before the user’s birthday. You can then add time delays, additional messages, etc. until the user’s birthday if you choose to do so, or just let the flow finish. Every countdown flow will have a starting date (X weeks before the target), and a target date. Hope I can help more.Best,Kevin.
