We have previously worked with Sendgrid for all emails and recently moved to Klaviyo for marketing engagement.

We tested a send from our team email that has been used for months and when sending with Klaviyo it now says “Unverified” in the outlook inbox to the receiver.

The receiving email is also the one that is sending it (testing internally)

Please help!

Hey @TheCarpoolKing,

Welcome to Klaviyo!

This sort of behavior isn’t uncommon, especially if you’re recently migrated platforms. Chances are you’re sending domain was previously authenticated when you were on Sendgrid, also known as using a dedicated sending domain.

Since moving platforms, you’ll want to realign your domain by using a dedicated sending domain on Klaviyo as well and warm the new domain

Similarly, you’ll want to ensure your DKIM records are realigned too as that could be another cause for emails being indicated as potential spam.

I hope this helps!

David

Great response @David To - domain alignment is an important aspect in the world of deliverability. Make sure your SPF, DKIM and DMARC are properly signed and aligned with the sending domain.

As a hygiene practice, also make sure migrating the blacklisted data from Sendgrid (historical bounce records, unsubs, blocks, unsubs, spam complaints, etc.) and suppress on Klaviyo. And, with regards to building reputation, target only most recent engaged subscribers with your best performing content to establish a strong sender reputation.

Regards,

Mohsin
