How can I prevent spam bots signing up while keeping my List set to single opt-in?

Hi @Taylor Tarpley!I must admit that @smbiz, for how blunt, is pretty much right!My company is investing a relative high amount of money in lead generation campaigns and aims to collect and nurture the contacts using Klaviyo.If we’re not able to “filter” these clicks at the origin (on the landing pages), even if we implement double opt-in (which we absolutely won’t, because it’s like shooting in your own foot), we’ll end up paying the CPC also for the bots!I don’t mean to be rude, but for a product as complete and top-notch as Klaviyo, this is beyond disappointing. Are you at least considering to implement such a thing?

Conversion definition

Hi @kaila.lawrence and @bluesnapper! Thank you for your replies!At the moment I don’t have a dedicated CRM, I’m at the very beginning and I prioritised having a solid marketing automation solution combined with the sales platform.I’ve set up events using JS, among which there is one called “Purchased” (which passes also the value and the product purchased) and I successfully see that when the event happens.I was wondering if there was a way to let Klaviyo’s analytics know that that event (and solely that) is an actual conversion.Thanks!

Hi @Brian Turcotte, I might have solved the issue in the way I wrote in my last reply :)For those who use GTM, the thing I saw is that it is important the order the tags fire (I know it might be obvious), so just to make sure the tag that loads the Klaviyo object fires before any other klavio.js operation.

Hi @Brian Turcotte!I’m having a similar issue.I inject the two snippets using two tags in Google Tag Manager:1) Klaviyo tracking, on all pages:<script type="text/javascript" src="//static.klaviyo.com/onsite/js/klaviyo.js?company_id=MyKey"></script>2) Klaviyo tracking logged users, only on the pages where the user is logged:<script>  klaviyo.push(['identify', {    '$email' : "MyEmailVariable"  }]);</script>I’ve made sure that the second tag is fired after the first.The issue I’m having is that the console returns the error “Uncaught ReferenceError: klaviyo is not defined”.What am I doing wrong? I also saw that the event tracking snippet I use for a specific page view is working correctly:<script type="text/javascript"> var _learnq = _learnq || []; _learnq.push(["track", "Network viewed"]);</script> I see the difference is the presence of _learnq and not of klaviyo, but I also saw on the API reference that the new versions do not use learnq.Thank

Well actually yours is a far better idea! I’ll just use Klaviyo to send the welcome mail and not the platform and it should be alright (and also that kind of email is usually more likely clicked, so two birds with one stone I’d say).

Thanks! I’m happy to see that I’ve managed to understand this correctly (I’m tech savvy but not an actual dev).If I may ask: how do you handle the tracking in this case? I mean: when someone submits a form to Klaviyo the system automatically links the profile with the tracking, I guess this is not the case when you do it via API. I saw that in the POST create profile there isn’t a _kx parameter (which to my understanding is the tracking id).Thanks!P.S.: I’m new here, is there a form for sending feature requests?
