Hey everyone,

Lately, I’ve noticed a spike in bounce rates for several of my clients using Klaviyo’s shared IP addresses. After investigating, I checked one of the IPs on MXToolBox and found that it’s blacklisted.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Also, is Klaviyo aware of this and actively working on a resolution? Any insights or recommended steps would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hey @Nermine,

Sorry you’re seeing an issue with the IPs being blacklisted, and that your bounce rates have gone up. Klaviyo monitors our IPs to check and see if they appear on any blacklists, and work to remove them when they do. Additionally, we rotate our IPs frequently, so if you were on an IP that was previously blacklisted, it’s likely that the next time you send a campaign, you’ll be on a different IP, and not experience that blacklisting issue.

In our experience, most block lists, other than SpamHaus, do not significantly impact an account's deliverability.

That being said, if you’re seeing significant deliverability problems due to bounces, I’d recommend making a segment of everybody who has recently had an email to them bounce (since you noticed this problem beginning) and excluding that segment from the next several campaign sends, until your bounce rate drops down to a healthier level.

If you have any more questions regarding this, let me know!
