Channel Affinity (Klaviyo): We’re interested in testing Klaviyo’s Channel Affinity tool to better align messaging with subscriber preferences (email-first vs. SMS-first). We see Labor Day as a good opportunity to pilot this. We’ll work on SMS messaging and would love to collaborate on executing this.
Action: What are next steps to execute this What do you need from kalviyo What do you need from client

Hi @sachin16
Channel affinity is not something that requires anything from your client or Klaviyo, though there is eligibility criteria for it.
It's a machine learning model that predicts which channel an individual profile is more likely to engage with based on historical data. For example, are they more likely to engage with email or SMS. It then allows you to create segments based on profiles' channel affinity and prioritise that channel for them in your campaigns and flows (filters and conditional splits).
Thank you for letting me know. Could you please provide any loom video how to create segment and how to set add profile filter for any live flow
Hi @sachin16,
While I’m not able to create a video on this right now, I’m happy to share with you our help article that explains channel affinity in-depth, and go over the criteria that need to be present on your account for Channel Affinity to be enabled.
These are the requirements for Channel Affinity to be present on your account:
You have at least 2 activated channels.
You have at least 1,000 profiles with at least 1 delivery through each channel.
You have at least 5,000 campaign deliveries on each channel in the last 6 months.
You have at least 1 engagement with the delivered campaigns on each channel.
For email and SMS to be included in channel affinity, you must be on paid plans.
Once these criteria are met, you’ll begin to see the engagement preferences on qualifying profiles’ predictive analytics.
From here, you can make segments, and flow filters/splits based on your profiles’ engagement preferences. An example of how to create a segment of everybody with email as their preferred channel would look like this:
To make an additional filter on a flow email that checks if somebody’s engagement preference is emails, you’d use this filter definition below:
Let me know if this helps, or if I can answer any more questions :)
Thanks for this Byrne.Actually my client want to test this for LDW promo. So I wanted to know how to execute this for LDW promo. Could you please explain. What should be the next step.
