Hi,

during the initial setup of the Placed Order event in Klaviyo, a mistake was likely made: instead of selecting "Value", "Conversion" was chosen as the unit. As a result, the analytics now display the number of conversions rather than the actual revenue from the orders.

Would it be advisable to delete the existing Placed Order event and create a new one where I select "Value" instead of "Conversion”, so that this can then be used as the correct basis for analytics and reporting?
Or is there a way to adjust the settings of the existing event so that revenue values are displayed properly?

Can someone help me out there?

Regards
Alena

Hi @Alena_RA,

Are you referring to a custom conversion metric you created? If so, you can still edit this metric. To do this, you’d go to https://www.klaviyo.com/analytics/metrics, and select the 3 dots on the right side of the metric you created. Click Edit, and then click Edit definition in the top right. This should allow you to change how you have this metric set up.

Let me know if this helps!

Hi Byrne,

thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately, this is not a custom metric and the edit button does not appear when I click on the three dots.

@Alena_RA,

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying. In order for me to understand better, would you be able to specify the analytics you’re referring to? Is this a certain dashboard or report you’re looking at? Additionally, could you send over a screenshot of the event data of one of these Placed Order events? That might help me troubleshoot. Thanks so much!

Hi @Alena_RA,

Just following up to see if your issue has been resolved!

Hi @Byrne C

it’s about the Placed Order metric, which is supposed to display the revenue in euros generated by the orders. Instead, what we see in the analytics is only the number of orders. For example, when we try to analyze Placed Order for a newsletter, we get the number of orders per newsletter rather than the revenue. Klaviyo Support has now advised us to update the corresponding API call.

I hope this made the problem a bit clearer :)
