I'm managing a BigCommerce store and want to use unique coupon codes with expiration dates in my email sequences to create urgency. After reading through both the BigCommerce and Shopify articles on setting up these codes, I’m concerned about the manual effort required to manage them efficiently. The Shopify integration offers a much more streamlined approach to setting up these timed discounts, that can be triggered on opening.

  1. Automation: What’s the best way to automate expiring coupon codes in Klaviyo for BigCommerce?

  2. Best Practices: Are there any tips for scaling this process across multiple email campaigns?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hey @GV123

Welcome to the community

Yes you are correct, its very easy to create dynamic coupon codes in Klaviyo if your ecommerce is Shopify. Dynamic coupon codes are unique coupon codes that are custom codes for each user and they expire depending on when you set it to expire.

However the process to create these unique/dynamic coupon code is not the same with Bigcommerce, because you will have to first create sets of coupon codes and then bulk upload it in Klaviyo. Good thing and a relief is that there are third party apps where you can directly create lets say 1000 coupon codes

This article explains more in detail on how to do that

Now to answer your question

I dont think there is a way to automate this process completely, but as i mentioned using apps like mockaroo.com or similar you can create some thousands of codes once and that would probably work for some time, but yes you will have to manually keep an eye on it and make sure you dont run out of those codes and replenish them time to time which is still manual work.

I hope this helps
